How many times have you heard people justify their attitude by saying "It happens all the time"?
For example the latest kerfuffle; NFL Kneegate.
The primary reason Kaepernick took the knee was to protest:
"I began paying attention to reports about the incredible number of unarmed black people being killed by the police."
Opinion | Eric Reid: Why Colin Kaepernick and I Decided to Take a Knee
So now we have the NFL teetering on collapse fewer viewers a lot of anger and for what reason?
The national anthem and flag represented the "It happens all the time" FALSE perception that cops are killing unarmed blacks all the time.
What are the facts? What IS the "incredible number of unarmed black people"?

Last year, according to the Washington Post’s tally, just 16 unarmed black men, out of a population of more than 20 million, were killed by the police.
The year before, the number was 36.
These figures are likely close to the number of black men struck by lightning in a given year, considering that happens to about 300 Americans annually and black men are 7 percent of the population.
And they include cases where the shooting was justified, even if the person killed was unarmed.
Police Violence against Black Men Is Rare
Do you think Kaepernick, and the over 200 NFL players really knew these statistics before they say
