There really is something seriously wrong with the left.....part of their brains that process, truth, facts and reality as well as the difference between Right and Wrong and Good and Evil just doesn't work properly....this is a perfect example....
Liberal minister calls Leitch’s pepper spray proposal ‘offensive to women’
Status of Women Minister Patty Hajdu is slamming Conservative candidate Kellie Leitch for her proposal to legalize the possession of pepper spray and mace so that women can better protect themselves from violence.
On Thursday, Leitch, a former minister in Hajdu’s portfolio, vowed to amend the Criminal Code to make it legal to carry mace or pepper spray to “better empower Canadians to defend themselves from criminal acts.”
Friday morning, Hajdu issued a statement criticizing Leitch’s proposal.
“Ms. Leitch’s proposal is unrealistic and offensive to women across this country,” she said. “Her misguided approach places the onus on women to defend themselves rather than focusing on addressing and preventing gender-based violence. It is not surprising, given that Ms. Leitch and the former Conservative government had 10 years to address violence against women and failed to do so.
“That’s why, after 10 years of inaction, we are developing a federal gender-based violence strategy in consultation with provinces, territories and grassroots organizations to ensure that women in Canada can live free from violence. We will continue to make sure that gender equality is at the core of all government decisions we make.”
