The majority of Americans vote for their own self interests

It depends on the issues involved and how much my self interest is effected. Bottom line I am not going to vote in favor of any policy/candidate that detrimental or poses a threat to my health, safety, well being, economic status, freedoms etc.

why?.....cant handle what Dean says?.....

does he ....say anything at all????

sure he does.....you put someone on ignore then you are telling that person you cant handle the shit they throw out there....you want to ignore Dean?.....dont get into a thread he starts....

did i say i had him on ignore?

i said.... does he say....anything? I don't think he say one word.... its all drivel. Seriously.... how dumb is the OP?

Most people vote for their own self interests, and not what is best for the country. It has happened over here - 8 days ago.

Naturally, anyone will say that when their party doesn't win. It happens here all the time.

Rich people voted for the Liberals because they care about their own interests.

Which explains 2% of the votes they got, what about the other 98%? After all, the poor people voted too.

So the question is ---- If Hitler promises the people the world, but Lincoln only promises to free the slaves, which one do you vote for?

aaahhh.... but Lincoln did not promises to free the slaves until the end of the war... when he thought he would lose the presidency.

and PUB DUPES VOTE FOR A LOT OF RACIST, ANTI-ABORTION, FAMILY VALUES intolerant hateful bs from greedy lying idiot rich, screw the environment and the workers,a-holes...stupidest voters in the world. Greedy rich don't vote to raise their own taxes or help the poor get health care, education, and training, or for jobs/infrastructure bills...

The majority of Americans vote for their own self interests.

This is why promoting policies that help the majority of the middle class wins elections.

Historically, an employed and educated middle class with a good infrastructure translates into a strong and stable country.

We know that a healthy population costs less than an unhealthy one so it's important people have access to health care.

We know that the burden of debt from education is now greater than credit card debt. Wealthy people from overseas send their children here for an education because a US education is still the best in the world, no matter what some say.

So the party that has:

Ideas about education without crushing debt

Ideas about affordable health care.

That works to keep jobs here.

That has plans to update the country's infrastructure.

That has plans for job training.

and so on.....

Will probably win the next election. One thing we know for sure, Taxes are at their lowest level in decades so trying to make that a competitive policy is probably laughable.

No, no, no ............ you have it all wrong.
First of all, we need to do away with voting because the sheeple will only vote in their own interest.
The sheeple need to come to terms that they are just human live stock, when they figure this out they will see that life is so much better.

Healthcare
Yes we need healthcare for all to a certain point ............ the level of care should be determined by your status.
As wealthy people have the highest status of healthcare they become dependent upon it, thus needing it more and more, this prevents the laws of nature from killing off the physically weak as would happen amongst the sheeple, as the sheeple must be provide minimal healthcare for correctable injuries so they can get back on the job.
The sheeple must be denied the following to produce a fruitful crop that will spawn even stronger offspring:
Dental
Urgent care for illnesses.
Ear, nose & throat illnesses
Genetic abnormality care, high blood pressure, heart problems care.
Diabetes care & supplies.
The sheeple should only have access to repairs, such as broken bones, cuts & scrapes should this happen on the job, as it would be less costly to repair a broken sheeple that produces than to wait for another one to grow to adulthood.
Only basic education should be provided to the sheeple for performing their tasks equivalent to about the 2nd grade maximum, because a dumb worker ............ is a happy worker.
There should also be status classes amongst the sheeple, such as healthy & attractive (pulled aside for breading with the wealthy)
Defective & unattractive (to preform dangerous & dirty tasks)

If this is done properly, humans as a species will consume much less and we will live into the ages of ages.

you forgot to mention the very large number of folks who, for one reason or another, rely on government assistance of some kind... and who will likely vote to continue such assistance... for the rest of their lives at the expense of others who have to foot the bill...

bayoubill.., you are correct, i know of a 75 y.o. retired military man and his disabled wife who vote conservative in every election, even if the conservative candidate advocates some sort of fiscal responsibility, they and i too believe their candidate will NOT cut their benefits.

right now it is the liarberal candidates and current presidunce who wants to cut off aid healthcare to the elderly and disabled. it's a fact
