the most important amendment in the bill of rights is the 2nd amendment!

It protects nothing. It's only as good as the people wielding the guns. There's really no reason why a "2nd Amendment" force of citizens would be any better than a government force at protecting our rights.

King George III was unavailable for comment.

...and irrelevant.
Irrelevant, huh?

King George III had the biggest, baddest, most trained and equipped military of his day.

Likewise, the Ho Chi Minh Trail was manned by dudes running bicycles and small carts.

Underestimate highly motivated people at your own peril, champ.

it protects all the other amendments.
No. The 5th is the most important, due process, your day in court to defend all your other rights.

You're one of those nuts who think a war in Korea, which we lost, protects our freedom here. It doesn't and the guns do not defend your rights. That's a court, a judge, a jury, and some lawyers.

Actually it seems that the Founding Fathers thought freedom of religion and freedom of speech were the most important issues in the Bill of Rights so they made them #1. If course freedom of speech and religion have been under assault by the democrat party going back to FDR. Once the radical fringe of the democrat party gets it's slimy hands on a single Amendment they will all fold like a deck of cards and that's what the brave new world of Hillary and Sanders liberalism is counting on.

elsewhere in the constitution are rules about the republican form of government, and within the 2nd amendment itself is mention of states rights. so, when have all the words of the constitution, all by themselves, ever taken a vote to decide which among them should be their lord protector?

One day a petition to rename something to Harambe will be accepted.

12 amendments were proposed. The First was number three making you dead wrong.

The First was number three

The 'first' two didn't make the cut, did they?

They did in the end. The point is the same, the First was not the top dog.

Did it make the final cut?

Was it First after that cut?

They could have proposed 10,000,

what made it thru to the end is what counts.
