Clause 5: Caring for the faithful execution of the law[edit]

The President must "take care that the laws be faithfully executed."[30] This clause in the Constitution imposes a duty on the President to enforce the laws of the United States and is called the Take Care Clause,[31] also known as the Faithful Execution Clause[32] or Faithfully Executed Clause.[33]

Can the President close the borders and allow only those going through legally at entrances?

Can the President demand the closing of Sanctuary Cities and stop their illegal funding?

Who cares more for the citizens of this country? Domocrats who refuse to think of the workers out of paychecks or the President who opened their jobs again and want them to be safe and well?

Think of that sentence for a bit. What does thay mean to you?

Are Sanctuary Cities legal when they harbor criminals? What funding do they use? How much is spent on Sanctuary Cities each year?

More than 100 sanctuary cities across America received a total of $27 billion in federal funds in one year, according to a new study. President Donald Trump has promised to withhold at least some of that money if such jurisdictions don’t change their policies on illegal immigrants.

Nearly 300 jurisdictions—states, counties, or cities—have some form of sanctuary policy, meaning they limit their involvement in enforcing federal immigration law.

The new study by Open the Books focuses on federal funding provided in fiscal 2016 to 106 of the nation’s sanctuary cities, not including state or county policies.

That clause means all law enforcement authority in the Constitution is derived from the president and all the pronouncements that the president has no authority to direct the DOJ is bullshit. They get their authority from him and they work for him.

.

Can the President close the borders and allow only those going through legally at entrances?
NO. We have border patrol that apprehends illegal border crossers... and the border patrol agents follow our laws written by congress.

If border patrol was ignoring our laws, then it would be his job to ensure they followed it

BULL CRAP!
....

The meaning of the good faith clause is for the President himself to follow our laws and treaties and NOT to go haywire himself, or to direct his administration, or staff or the military, to break our laws.

The president has to faithfully execute the Laws Congress has put in place.... His executive orders to direct the executive branches of govt have to fall within the boundaries of the laws created by congress.

How's the weather over on fantasy island? Your "good faith clause" exists no where in the Constitution. But you're partially correct, tell the class, who does the USAG work for? The AG position isn't in the Constitution so what makes you think it has some kind of "independent authority"? It's pretty damn simple, the AG, which existed form the days of Washington and the DOJ, which was created in 1870, are supervised by and answerable to one person, the President.
