You probably saw it on the news. Yesterday Dallas police officer Amber Guyger was sentenced to a decade in prison for the murder of Botham Jean, and this young man’s family was in the courtroom. In a powerful expression of selfless love and mercy, Botham’s younger brother, 18-yr-old Brandt, surprised those watching by sharing with Amber the only thing that could totally change her life forever. Brandt told her, "If you truly are sorry, I know I can speak for myself, I forgive you ... I think giving your life to Christ would be the best thing that Botham would want for you. I love you as a person, and I don't wish anything bad on you.”

How can Brandt respond in love when so much was taken from their family? The Bible tells us, “ We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). The judge also gave Amber a priceless gift—copy of God’s Word, the Bible.

Moral of the story: don't leave your front door unlocked. Ever.

There are not many things that bring a tear to my eye but the kindness and bravery of this young man turns out to be one of them.

While we all play political tag real lives go on and the things that matter trudge forth despite the walls we build around ourselves.

I heard on the radio today that both this judge and this young man crossed some arbitrary line. I couldn't disagree more.

She was trained to call for back-up even if she thought it was her apt..
So she made 2 errors in judgement and the 3rd was pulling the trigger!
She deserves at the least 20 yrs. in prison with no parole!

The guy would have hugged Osama bin Laden if given the chance.

No one should be attacking a man for being a paragon of forgiveness. He is a better person than most of us to be able to do that.

She's a fn murderer Give her the chair or life 10 years is BS
This thread isn't about her punishment

I love how you start a thread about something you see as good... mercy and forgiveness, and immediately they are screaming to kill someone.

mercy and forgiveness.....

2 things those people screaming for blood would claim are important tenets of their god and religion.....
