Today, socialist anarchy is not only accepted but embraced as a basic tenet of the Party. Is this the natural evolution of 1960s radicalism, or is it a new movement based on changing societal values and economic realities?

I think it may be more of the latter, fueled by the destruction of the middle class in this country. Even two-parent households are more likely to have both parents working $20 per hour jobs and struggling to make ends meet, thereby creating ever greater reliance on government programs. Can our once-great private sector economy be revived, or are we irreversibly destined to go down another path?

In fact, democratic policy positions are supported by a majority of Americans, such as privacy rights for women, immigration reform, the right of same-sex couples to marry, and the decriminalization of marijuana.

Well, I see you didn't bother to read the link I provided.
The article talks about where the GOP was at the time of last November election and far the GOP has fallen since then.
The Pew Poll mirrors what other polls are showing. Where there is smoke, there's fire.
I happen to agree with Pew's results, both parties have moved further from the center, the GOP is more extreme than the extreme Dems.
