The wrong kind of people come through along with the good people.. In this day and age we need boundaries, just like people build fences around their house... nothing wrong with boundaries..

We ought to use psychology instead of buildig a wall. It is far cheaper. Just put up signs every 25 yards or so warning that the area being crossed is a minefield.

And make sure there is a minefield...border crossings will drop dramatically after the first dozen or so get blown up

What we are against is wasting resources building a wall across the entire southern border... when there are regions with miles of mountains or miles of dessert, with no towns in sight on either side of the border, where it would be a complete waste of tax dollars, which could be used to update and add equipment like additional high definition motion detector cameras, more helicopters, and man power in the known high traffic illegal crossing areas.

And we do not want to pay for it by cutting other services like healthcare for the poor, or by privatizing with vouchers... MEDICARE cuts....or by cutting spending on education or the arts....or by selling our National Treasures.

. I say build military post and border patrol post all along the southern border. The thing should be monitored day and night. Border States could participate just like the state transportation takes care of a stretch of road before the next office takes over in the next county. Drone surveillance is key, but enforcement is the main ingredient. Without strict enforcement, then it is fruitless no matter what is done in the ways of physical barriers. The wall will be symbolic, but enforcement is the key.
