This unconstitutional finding is good for the republican party. Quite simply it takes this issue off the national stage and out of the hands of the democrats!!! So the republican party can give it to the states....Now what can we do next to become more favorable for 2014-2016.

Fight for lower taxes...We could fight the irs issue with coming out for the fair tax?

Fight for more freedoms...Become the party of the first amendment since the left wants to ban freedom of speech. End this hate speech bill shit!

Support our students over outright amnesty to the illegals. Certainly, as I posted in the immigration forum, we should give it to the educated...But to give it to the parasites? Not if you want a high standard of living and low crime.

-We become pro-science and invention. You're NOT going to get the 18-29 year age group by being against science and tech. Major loser. Tech and science jobs are high paying and most of this age group needs to dream...The republican party can strengthen our hand by waking up to this reality.
*You know that it would be cheaper and more economic to build a single sizeable ship in space? Put some ion engines on it and we could use the grasshopper(space x) 8 years from now to go back and forth to our moon base. Bigelow modules could allow us to do it for 1/5th of what it would cost otherwise. This would put us on top in science and allow our children to dream. *Support the development of asteroid mining.
*Support science in general

-We adopt a all of the above energy policy. Maybe we could dump another 5 billion into beating the French with the ITR? Getting fusion to work would be one hell of a victory for our party!

The truth is we can't win by being the party on the defense. Right now the democrats clearly own the fucking ball and are sliding this nation to the left sharply.

Truth be told we can't win by being extreme on social issues. The democrats hit us over the head when our idiots says that a woman can't get knocked up by being RAPED. Maybe we should allow BIRTH CONTROL and early term abortion! Lets be logical republicans you have to start somewhere...Maybe fight for banning it after 20 weeks? Maybe you should keep this issue at the state level. ;) Heck, I feel you should keep most issues at the state level. :eusa_hand:

It's fucking insane to fight against birth control!

Hell the gay issue shouldn't even be fought by republicans. Our party should be a party that wants to see America remain top dog on this planet. Being top dog means we have to lead in science, technology and military....The last one is mostly technology. :eusa_pray:

You can't do that by starving these area's. Let's wake up to reality!

IF WE RUN WITH THE SAME PARTY OF NO AND SOCIAL POLICIES IN 2014/2016=LOSER!!!

The question is......will Republican be bright enough to take fighting against gay rights off their agenda?

If abortion on demand was banned after 12 weeks, like it is in many developed countries, it would almost become a non-issue.

25% of Americans want abortion to be legal in all circumstances. And another 15% wants the opposite. Guess who is called "extremist"

Yep,

We should run on the issues the people want. ;) 12-20 week abortions...

Sorry, not going to happen.

Social conservatives and Christian fundamentalists have too strong a grip on the GOP. If any republican politician proposed what you advocate, he’d be primaried in a heartbeat.

Republicans will continue to oppose equal protection rights for same-sex couples as they’ve spent the last 40 years opposing privacy rights for women.

The way it is good for the republican party is to show just how bad it can get with a democratic president making supreme court appointments and how important presidential votes are.

But 10 years from now they'll claim that not only were they behind it...it was their idea.

Aren't some Republicans already pushing for a constitutional amendment?

That's not going to happen. If the equal rights amendment couldn't get passed. This won't either. What you might see is the right of individuals to practice their religion affirmed.

In my opinion, the Republican party establishment is beginning to do some soul searching over their support of social conservatives. They know that it will be a long process, but that they will have to loosen the grip social and religious conservatives have on their party, or become irrelevant. Many people in the country consider themselves fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. They have been turning off fiscal conservatives by not being any better than Democrats on spending, and turning off social liberals by being opposed to such things as gay rights and science. Republicans no longer have a legitimate leg to stand on. They know that has to change or the party will slowly die.

Justice Kennedy was nominated to the Supreme Court by Ronald Wilson Reagan.

So much for that ‘theory.’

Many conservatives were upset after the Supreme Court ruled against part of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on Wednesday. Televangelist Pat Robertson exemplified this reaction Thursday, suggesting Justice Anthony Kennedy had been unfairly influenced in his decision, perhaps by any "gays" working for him.

Robertson, a controversial elder statesman in America's evangelical community, made the comments during his daily television program "The 700 Club." Introducing Jay Sekulow, a guest from the conservative American Center for Law and Justice, Robertson asked about Kennedy, a California-born justice who has served on the Supreme Court since 1988.

"Jay let me ask you about Anthony Kennedy," Robertson said. "Does he have some clerks that happen to be gays?"

After a second of silence, Sekulow said he "had no idea" what sexual orientation Kennedy's clerks were, adding later in the segment that "I don't know about the background of his clerks -- I've had a lot of cases in front of Justice Kennedy and frankly most of the time he rules in our favor."

Justice Kennedy is a conservative but not an ideologue, he understands the importance of the Constitution’s guarantee of individual liberty and dignity along with the importance of restricting the state’s authority concerning privacy rights.

When the Fed buys 77% of new government debt, fiscal conservatism has no meaning anymore.

And most americans support higher taxes on earners over $200K or $250K, both at the federal and state level, so fiscal conservatism is actually not that popular.

The idiot who thinks they can substitute THEIR judgement for the woman and her doctors...

That's extreme.

Saying that a woman is the best judge of whether she wants to carry a pregnancy to term or not is hardly an extreme position.

It's the LAW of these United States.

Here's the problem with your premise.

The GOP has only maintained itself by playing the Rubes on these social issue and racial issue and anti-science issue.

If the GOP ran on pure, unadultered Plutocracy (We are for the 1%, and the rest of you fucking peasants better get to like it!!!!) they'd lose.

So instead, they run on the Rube Issues.

Oppossing Affirmative Action
Playing the Race Card
Gay Marriage
Anti-Abortion
Anti-Evolution

In short, getting you dumb, white Rubes to vote against your own economic issues by playing on your racial, religious and sexual fears.

Shit, Romney was as close to the GOP running a naked plutocrat as you could get, and he lost right after he blurted out that half the country are moochers and we should all be happy like the Chinese babes living 120 to a bathroom to make douchebags like him rich.

You forgot to mention fear-mongering over guns in that list.

Well, not exactly.

Guns are kind of a special case in the Rich vs. Rubes Matrix.

If we were having a rational discussion about it, the Rubes would say, "Hey, yeah, I don't want it to be easy for criminals and the mentally ill to get guns. Duh!"

But the thing is, the Gun Manufacturers want the criminals and mentally ill to be able to get guns. They want the Rubes to be really scared so they buy more guns.

So there is a wealthy element to wanting the gun laws to stay where they are at.
