Oh right the statistically rare cases that do not matter.God forbid voting is made easy for minorities
Even the illegal ones and the dead ones!!! Fucking scumbags.
If that argument means anything, then it is equally meaningful to the issue of the right to keep and bear arms. The overwhelming vast majority of firearm owners never use them to commit crimes, and the overwhelming vast majority of firearms are never used criminally. This remains even more true of rifles, which are a subset of all firearms, than it is of guns in general, and “assault weapons” are a subset of that.
So, if it is invalid to protect the integrity of the voting process, because proven instances of vote fraud are “statistically rare cases that do not matter”, then it is at least equally invalid to restrict the right of the people to keep and bear arms, on the basis that out of the numbers of people who legally own guns, and of the guns that are legally-owned, those that are involved in crimes are “statistically rare cases that do not matter”.
By the way, there is at least one congresscrook who is in office, who achieved that position specifically by courting the votes of invading foreign criminals, and urging them to illegally vote for her.
