Seems that we have people here who do not understand the rule of law. The rule of law applies to all Americans and especially to the one who puts his hand on the bible charged with upholding the Rule of Law.

The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the United States. Do you Trump a lumps understand what this means?

It means that congress has the right to investigate questionable actions by the president. The DOJ are not employees of the president. They serve the people. They have the right to investigate a president and anyone else who may be in violation of the law. The media is protected by the constitution and have the right to oppose a president acting in a questionable manner. The US Government is not the Trump Organization. When you decide to think you can be president you signed up for the scrutiny. When you become president you are the employee of over 300 million people. WE are the board of directors and the president, regardless of party, must answer to us.

What is happening to Trump is neither a witch hunt, coup, or attempted overthrow. It's called a check. And the rule of law says we can check the president.

The investigation was launched on false premises using information known to be unreliable.

The investigation continued long after it was obvious that nothing was there to be found.

The investigation used witch hunt style tactics, and was used to smear good people and to have a political impact.

To the extent that those doing it, and supporting it, knew all of this, and still wanted Mueller to find "Something" and gin that up to an Impeachment,

it was indeed a soft coup attempt.

The DOJ people do serve the President, as he is the only one of two elected members to the Executive Branch. The People's control of the various cabinet positions flows from their ability to elect the President.

Any other concept implies that the power is held by a bunch of unelected bureaucrats.

Congress and the Judiciary are the counters constitutionally to the Executive, not the members of his own Branch.

Completely false.

It was begun because of the firing of James Comey and remarks made by the President

The DOJ people do serve the President

WRONG.

They swear an oath the nation...not the President.'

And that's no small distinction

So does the President....

Their power flows from the Constitution, and the only constitutionally mandated positions are President, VP, and senate confirmed cabinet members.

Everyone else is a worker drone, and they work for the President.

It figures progressives LOVE the idea of an unaccountable noble class, it makes it easier for them to get their shit done when the people have no recourse.

You fucking fascists.
They are appointed by the President but their loyalty is to the NATION...not the Cult Leader

Their loyalty must be to the country, but their duty is to the elected president.

As long as an order given to them is legal, they must follow it, even, and especially if they disagree with it politically.

It's comical you yell fascism when you are basically saying we need a group of unelected bureaucrats to make political decisions instead of the elected president.

How about you get your TDS infected head out of your ass for once?

Article One
Article One describes the Congress, the legislative branch of the federal government. Section 1, reads, "All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives." The article establishes the manner of election and the qualifications of members of each body. Representatives must be at least 25 years old, be a citizen of the United States for seven years, and live in the state they represent. Senators must be at least 30 years old, be a citizen for nine years, and live in the state they represent.

Article I, Section 8 enumerates the powers delegated to the legislature. Financially, Congress has the power to tax, borrow, pay debt and provide for the common defense and the general welfare; to regulate commerce, bankruptcies, and coin money. To regulate internal affairs, it has the power to regulate and govern military forces and militias, suppress insurrections and repel invasions. It is to provide for naturalization, standards of weights and measures, post offices and roads, and patents; to directly govern the federal district and cessions of land by the states for forts and arsenals. Internationally, Congress has the power to define and punish piracies and offenses against the Law of Nations, to declare war and make rules of war. The final Necessary and Proper Clause, also known as the Elastic Clause, expressly confers incidental powers upon Congress without the Articles' requirement for express delegation for each and every power. Article I, Section 9 lists eight specific limits on congressional power.

What does that have to do with the bureaucracy of the executive branch of the federal government?

Article One is only about the legislature, why are you quoting it when talking about the Executive?

And that's no small distinction

Wrong. They swear an oath to the Constitution to uphold it.

Read article 4, section 4 of the Constitution, and then realize who is not upholding it.

If you swear an oath to the Constitution to uphold it you are swearing an oath to the nation.

Yeah, but they say Constitution. They don't say "nation".

How about posting what Article 4, section 4 says? :04:

And under the Constitution the President is the duly elected head of the Executive Branch.

Thus under the Constitution anyone who is a sworn employee must defer to the President as long as the orders given by the President are lawful.

Can you show me where in the constitution the DOJ is specifically listed, and their duties are laid out?

The office of the Attorney General was established by the Judiciary Act of 1789 as a part-time job for one person, but grew with the bureaucracy. At one time, the Attorney General gave legal advice to the U.S. Congress as well as the President, but in 1819 the Attorney General began advising Congress alone to ensure a manageable workload.[6] Until March 3, 1853, the salary of the Attorney General was set by statute at less than the amount paid to other Cabinet members. Early Attorneys General supplemented their salaries by running private law practices, often arguing cases before the courts as attorneys for paying litigants.[7]

Following unsuccessful efforts (in 1830 and 1846) to make Attorney General a full-time job,[8] in 1869, the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, led by Congressman William Lawrence, conducted an inquiry into the creation of a "law department" headed by the Attorney General and also composed of the various department solicitors and United States attorneys. On February 19, 1868, Lawrence introduced a bill in Congress to create the Department of Justice. President Ulysses S. Grant signed the bill into law on June 22, 1870.[9]

United States Department of Justice - Wikipedia

The congress passed a law creating the DOJ and that is within it's constitutional mandate.

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

Furthermore, Senators and Representatives cannot resign to take newly created or higher-paying political positions; rather, they must wait until the conclusion of the term for which they were elected.
