If she had retired while Obama was in office, Barrett wouldn't be on the court right now. Democrats want to blame Donald, and they want to blame Collins. But the blame goes squarely on their beloved RBG. When the history books talk about this 100 years from now they'll cite her decision to remain on the court as the key factor that led to the downfall of Roe.

Her name is not even mentioned even though she knew the truth

They need to blast her interviews all over CNN

When one speaks of "blame," it is understood that the antecedent event was harmful.

Overturning RvW, should it occur, would be an occasion for celebration. Ginsberg deserves credit, not blame.

So, if I'm a progressive woman, should I still worship at the RBG altar or has she been cancelled now?
It must be so confusing for ya'll. No wonder you're always so angry about something

I don't want to blame her. I want to thank her.

RBG said she belived McConnell would never allow Obama a third Justice, and history proved her right. McConnell engineered this purely to get Xian donations for senate campaigns from 2016 to today. Will the Dems find the stones to bury him?

Blame or credit?

When historians talk about Roe v Wade they will shake their heads over the ignorance and political agenda that motivated the liberal Justices to find a "right to privacy" that didn't exist in the Constitution and use that faulty concept to justify the murder of a million unborn.

Actually, RBG thought Roe v. Wade was bad law.

Roe v. Wade derives from the Griswold v. Connecticut line of decidendi, which asserted that a general right of privacy is implicitly inherent to the collective penumbra of the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Ninth Amendments.

Ginsberg failed to observe that the essence of the Bill of Rights is natural law, under which the rights to life, liberty and private property are inalienable. Accordingly, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Texan law that was struck down by the Court in Roe v. Wade, as that law provided for the proper medical care to preserve the life of both the mother and the child.

But, of course, Ginsberg was a leftist who abhorred the imperatives of natural law as their observance stands in the way of her statist inclinations and are anathema to abortion on demand per convenience.

In any event, she thought "the right to abortion" should have been predicated on the Equal Protection Clause.

I don't know about linking the NYT with its paywall (I subscribe so I dunno)

But imo the right to life movment, funded mainly by American protestant/evangelicals, and supported by the Catholic Church can't really be compared to anything in Western europe. American evangelicals are more a 'quirk" to them, as Justice Kennedy found when he did "teaching gigs" there, and Western Europe (Fr and Germany) turned their backs on Catholicism post-Holocaust.
