But three-plus years of pre-trial detention is the stuff of Communist totalitarian regimes, not a free country where the only legitimate reason to hold someone before trial is concern that they won't show up, which is not really the case here.

Why are Leftists never held accountable in situations like this? SOMEONE, and probably a group of people should be fired if not criminally prosecuted for this man's treatment, which is illegal and unconstitutional in many respects.
