The famine under Mao isn't the fault of communism, and I don't think Mao intentially causes a famine of his people... It would just make him look bad, his policies were stupid though.A few facts I wanted to share with you about Mao, Political Chic. There is a little book called Kings of the East by Chick publications which shares the following facts:
In 1949 after WWII China went into civil war - the pro-Communists won - Mao became the Chairman of the People's Republic. In the purges that followed, an estimated 60 million Chinese people were killed.
The information for this was reported in the US Senate 63-549-0 Human Cost of Communism. 2 years later - Mao's plan of aggression began. China helped engineer an invasion of Korea and after 3 bloody years a truce was signed.
Tibet falls, no one cares including the United Nations. What did the Chinese Reds do?
According to Readers Digest issue February 1970 page 214:
In the village of Ba-Jeaba the inhabitants were forced to watch the crucifixion of 25 wealthy people. In the same village men and women were forced to watch 24 parents having nails driven through their eyes - because they refused to send their children to Chinese schools.
In March 1972, Nixon flew to Red China opening the doors to the "Kings of the East". The Barrier keeping Red China from world recognition was then removed.

On October 21,1972, the pro-communists inside the U.N. voted Red China into the U.N. This was a great victory because now China had the right to send her ambassadors and undercover agents throughout the world.

U.S. pulls out of Vietnam and Cambodia and eventually out of all of Asia. (* my own comment to you - according to high level govt. officials in office at the time - America won the Vietnam war because N.Vietnam contacted the White House issuing a surrender - upon this news the White House announced it was withdrawing from Vietnam and made sure the American people were not told about this victory against Communist North Vietnam - the surrender was kept top secret)

this announcement was read in Newsweek issue April 14th, 1975 -page 19 by Tran Kim Phuong, Vietnamese Ambassador to U.S.A. :
It is safer to be an ally of the Communists and, it looks like it is fatal to be an ally of the U.S.
-Tran Kim Phuong, Vietnamese Ambassador to USA
Quoted in Newsweek April 14th, 1975 page 19
Then we witnessed a domino effect and today - only 43 years later we have such words being used from the White House as "normalization" of relations with Cuba (a communist term) - citizens of America (such as Moonglow) giving a pseudo definition of communism (which simply does not exist) the intentional dumb down of American citizens who are being fed communist propaganda (and they prefer to believe it!) while stepping blindly over every piece of concrete evidence of the past which tells us that America is on a collision course with disaster.
