There was no letter on the bed

here is another NYT article on it, but oh no, this is only republicans pushing this...

WASHINGTON — Sometime after midnight on June 30, 2009, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl left behind a note in his tent saying he had become disillusioned with the Army, did not support the American mission in Afghanistan and was leaving to start a new life.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/03/u...ho-pow-vanished-angered-his-unit.html?hp&_r=0

why do lefties just dismiss this outright?

all claims of a note are based on the memory of a report by a retired officer. on the other hand the fact that the note is not mentioned in the official report seems to indicate that it did not exist

it is evidence it did not exist, but it is not conclusory evidence. reports can be faulty or it may have been omitted on purpose. to claim out of hand it doesn't exist is silly.

They didn't mention an alien space ship either...but that isn't conclusory [sic] evidence that it didn't exist......right?

apples/oranges. there is anecdotal evidence it did. are you saying reports are never wrong?

The demands Obama do something, until he did, indicate the "note" maybe questionable. The three unit members that are using Grenell as their conduit are looking for publicity, that is certain.

Watching Republican Senator's this morning on Morning Joe talking about this situation.

There was no letter on the bed. Senators asked the military and they said it had been fully investigated. It never existed.

One GOP Senator said that Bergdahl looked undernourished, drugged, was mumbling and appeared to be "coerced", but didn't seem to be in any imminent danger (huh"?). This from a 90 second video shown to all Senators.

And they were asked if the White House called them and apologized for any misunderstanding and they had the hardest time saying "yes".

Joe Scarborough attacked the parents of this kid while others at the table told him to leave the kid's parents alone. Joe said the parents should have called the Pentagon and demanded care for their son (after VA funding has been cut - like that's gonna happen).

What isn't clear is whether Republicans understand that it was al Qaeda that attacked the US. To an outside observer, after 9/11, the US then attacked Iraq and the Taliban but let the leader of al Qaeda go. I never could understand that.

And finally, isn't leaving an American in the hands of Islamic Extremists what Republicans accused Obama of doing?

I think in their zeal to attack the president, Republicans are setting themselves up for very difficult explanations. How do you think they will respond?

They'll just do what they always do - spend millions of tax dollars on fake investigations and fill the airways with lies, half-truths and innuendo.

And the usual anti-Americans will believe every lie because they need to believe the worst about the president.

and yet people like you and your good buddy Dean just accept anything told you by this President and your little party and never ask a fucking question...you kinda wonder who the real Anti-Americans are....

It does not matter now if Bergdahl left a note on his bed. The retards already believe he did and there is NOTHING you can do about it. Chalk up another success for Obama Derangement Syndrome.

They chow down on manufactured bullshit so much they think real facts are lies.

You see, when a person believes their side cannot possibly lie, this makes them easily manipulated. And if you dare to present actual facts to them, or point out they are drinking a lot of piss and eating a lot of manufactured bullshit, they will call you an asshole and come after you with a vengeance.

So you are too late. The actual existence of a note on the bed is no longer material in their belief system.

"Duhhhhh...we has questions!"

No they don't. They believe they already have all the answers.
You see, when a person believes their side cannot possibly lie

you mean like your good buddies Dean,Luddy and Franco?....just sayin....

"Misunderstanding"? There was no misunderstanding between the Obama Administration and Congress! Barry decided to do this deal because his group of idiots mistakenly thought it would be great PR. They didn't tell anyone over on Capital Hill that they were going to pull the trigger on it because they KNEW that every time a prisoner swap had been suggested before there had been strong bipartisan opposition to it. This deal was done for strictly political reasons. It was done because the Obama Administration was taking so much heat about the VA scandal that they desperately needed something to "change the narrative". The thing that's telling is that this group of SUPPOSEDLY intelligent people didn't understand how trading five high level terrorists for one low level deserter was going to outrage so many people.

negotiations were in the works since december. does that fit your narrative that his release was manufactured to cover anything up?

Dean are you going to ask this guy for a link?...you do when a Righty makes statements like this.....just sayin....

You're a bit naive, Jake.

Just because a President is overseeing an American conflict does not give him authority to disregard law passed by the Congress. That's NOT how our system operates.

And yet, we see quote after quote of Republicans saying they had been contacted over the last two years and thought this was a workable idea. And over the last few days, they have had to scrub their websites and tweets to march to the party beat.
The truth is, Republicans are disappointed that Obama didn't leave this guy there so they can say he left behind a soldier. They would have crucified him.

Deanie? Forget the GOP...not even Hilary Clinton or Diane Feinstein thought this was a good idea and vetoed it repeatedly. Obama didn't tell Congress what he was planning because he knew that he faced BIPARTISAN opposition to doing a swap.

Dean not mention the GOP in a post..........are you serious?...he would not be able to say anything.....

Obama totally owns this screw up, you sound proud. Anything bad for the United states is good in your book.

Bringing an American soldier home instead of leaving him to die at the hands of radical Islamic Extremists is "bad"? Another patriotic Republican heard from.

I just watched a show where this administration was in negotiation with the Taliban about these five Taliban and Bergdahl began all the way back in 2011. The talks stalled because the negotiation became public and was printed in the main stream press. Names and everything.

Dean always leaves links....just ask him he will tell you.....except when he says something he cant back up....

Like what? Other people on this thread saw the same show. They already backed it up.

bullshit. where is the link. if it was on a show, there is a link.

liar

saved rdean lie

SEE IT: Joe Scarborough spars with Chuck Todd over Bowe Bergdahl's parents - NY Daily News

I love making morons look like the morons they are. They demand a link to something you can find in 30 seconds because they don't know how to use Google. I suspect I post more links than any right winger at the USMB. The only time I don't post one, they call me a liar. They call me that anyway because they refuse to go to the links I do post. And they hate seeing what I post, even if it's from Fox or the Christian Science Monitor.
