Think Drill Baby Drill Is The Answer To Our Energy Solution? Think Again

Hydro is expensive, period, does not even pay for the cost of the dam. Hydro is powered by rain, not the sun. Look up what Hydro means.
Why do you think it rains? It's called the water cycle. It's powered by the sun.
Venezuela tanked their economy cause they relied on Hydro. Industry literally shut down because Hydro failed.
Venezuela tanked their economy because they are a socialist failed state.
Then of course there is the fact of billions of tons of co2 Hydro emits
Hydro does not emit any CO2. Water flowing downhill is directed through turbines that turn electrical generators. There is no fuel burned, gravity does the work. The water is transported back uphill via evaporation and convection.

The only ongoing cost is maintenance once the capital investment is made.

And what have you read, on dams?
During a drought, how do they do?
Cost?
No such thing as renewable.

I have a master's in Chem E and keep abreast of most engineering topics, including dams and other forms of power generation.

Hoover Dam has been under drought conditions on and off for decades now, and it still generates power.

There is such thing as renewable, but the issue is except for hydro, none of it is suitable for base load generation.

A masters in chem e dont mean shit. I work in the energy industry. I just finished working on a Fusion reactor experiment with MIT. Which experience is relevant to energy, or most relevant.
Hoover Dam is under drought conditions?

Big deal, the hoover dam is not a source of water.

The hoover dam is fed by thousands of miles of rivers hence 1000's of years of drought really don't matter.

Decades? I would of stated over a century.

So. How many more places can we build a hoover dam in the USA? Answer, zero.

Still hoping fusion is just 25 years away? I've heard that since I was in high school in the 90's.

We can stop removing the ones already in place for starts.

I worked on a fusion reactor, the largest one being built yet. This was not being done 25 years ago.

The ones in place are fission, which I assume you know and meant nuclear, in general.

Duh.

Fusion is the promise that keeps getting pushed back 10 years every 10 years. I wish you guys luck because it will be a game changer, but it's been promised and promised with no commercial results so far.

No. Venezuela relies on Renewable Energy for electricity. What happened is 3 years of drought simply could not renew the water in the dam that provides electricity.

Renewables failed to renew.

75% of Venezuela's electricity comes from renewables. When renewables failed to renew Venezuela's oil industry suffered do to the lack of energy to operate.

This is the biggest experiment to date. I am no longer involved. I don't doubt the powers that be will not allow fusion, just the same as they don't allow fission.

Nope. Read some history. Crony Capitalism wrecked Venezuela. Electing Hugo Chavez was an attempt to get back on track and it worked until the oil price collapsed.

Fission is allowed, but vilified, and evidently even the green morons are coming around to the realization you would need it for their Fossil fuel elimination plans.
