Top House, Senate lawmakers warn HHS over slow health provider aid payouts

"Top House and Senate lawmakers say Trump administration delays paying out billions of dollars in emergency aid to health providers could shut down hard-hit safety net hospitals and clinics nationwide already facing collapse during the pandemic.

In a letter on Wednesday to HHS Secretary Alex Azar, the bipartisan group demanded a timeline for distributing the roughly $100 billion in funds that Congress earmarked for providers months ago. The lawmakers are also seeking an explanation for why safety net providers that primarily care for the poorest and most vulnerable Americans have yet to receive targeted federal aid."

When agencies are gutted for reasons of partisanship and making room for new hires whose qualifications emphasize loyalty over ability you get agencies that are not capable of performing their duties in a professional, timely manner.

Is this supposed to defend or excuse incompetence?

After being impeached, exposed as morally and ethically corrupt, mishandling a deadly pandemic and civil unrest over police rbrutality, what is Trump's path to re-election?

Trump cultists will excuse every misstep, every unforced error because he has (R) behind his name. An approval rating in the low 49% range won't bring a November victory. Those few still hoodwinked will never face that stark truth. They'll stay in the bunker until they hear the shot. Then rhetoric will deny ever knowing him.
