Former White House aid Cassidy Hutchinson's damning testimony has even FOX News and many Republicans ceasing their cries of a "partisan which hunt" since many of the key witnesses are fellow Republicans. Underneath all the outrage however looms something bigger as several former prosecutors are now mumbling: The prosecution of a former President involves more than just checking the required evidence box's, more than enough of those have been checked...A.G. Merrick Garland now has to decide if the office of the President is so sacred that he will decline to prosecute or if he feels to prosecute would involve the justice department too deeply into partisan politics.

On one hand Merrick Garland is a former prosecutor, well-educated, experienced, and qualified to do this job, on the other hand he's very concerned about his legacy and reputation, especially if he should he decide to prosecute, and lose. Evidence aside, this could go either way - Stay Tuned

You mean the unsubstantiated, unsupported, no real evidence "damning" testimony?

Who cares......

Merrick Garland is hollow-eyed loser who has sold his soul.

One of the principles of the United States is this, "No One Is Above The Law".

I have not gotten involved in this, but after watching/reading testimony, the absence of ANY cross examination or challenge to the testimony which at best would mostly be ruled hearsay in any court in the land, I think all testimony has to be regarded at least as potentially suspect. What few have claimed personal witness have not been challenged to put their testimony into its full context.

We watched Adam Schiff's witch hunt on the Russian/Ukrainian collusion on national television, and watched as skilled attorneys shot down every single witness. All eventually said that no, they personally had witnessed or heard nothing of any criminal activity of any kind re Donald J. Trump. Schiff and company didn't make that mistake this time when they stacked the Jan 6 commission with all strong anti-Trump people and disallowed anybody who would question the testimony in any way.

If this process was being done in this way to a Democrat, the leftists would be screaming FOUL to high heaven.

You shouldnt spend a moment of your time watching that political sideshow, which will result in absolutely NOTHING! Its a waste of time and money.

or if he feels to prosecute would involve the justice department too deeply into partisan politics.
Not prosecuting would be a much deeper dive into partisan politics. It would be giving Republicans a free pass for any criminal behavior, solely because they're Republicans.

The fact that they're threatening so much violence is more incentive to prosecute. We need to show terrorists that making terrorist threats will be counterproductive to their terrorist cause.

If it was a Democrat being discussed as a criminal suspect, there would be no question anywhere of "not prosecuting it because it might look partisan". Both sides would absolutely be prosecuting. The same standard should hold with Republicans.

For what it's worth, I see from reliable sources that both the secret service agent and the driver are more than willing to testify to rebut Cassidy Hutchinson's 'damning' testimony. They won't be allowed to of course.

After Hillary was let off with a slap on the wrist for breaking multiple federal laws it's clear nobody will be prosecuted.
