This sure wont help OBAMA. Gas prices will be over 4.00 by spring

time to run from oil and build alternatives that dont cause damage like oil.

That would be the smart thing to do.

I bet the right wants to drill drill drill still and keep the terror coffers full of American money

As a Conservative, I am all for building alternatives to oil. In the long term, alternatives will make us less dependent solely oil as an energy source. In the now and present, however, this is an oil-driven economy. If someone can present a viable option in the here and now to switch to an alternative and not the ephemeral or promise that simply results in deterioration of an already ailing economy, the Left look either foolish or are willing to sacrafice the US Economy because of a hatred for oil.

Why are you "conservatives" so AFRAID of Progressives?

Who ELSE are you gonna find, to drag your LAZY, "conservative"-ASSES into the 21st Century??????

At some point we'll all have a Mr Fusion. So what?

well, then we'll stop sending gobs of our money to the people who wanna blow us up.

is this mic on??

Someday .... someday....

the personal computer was first built in what, the 60's or 70's. eveready introduced the first commercially available alkaline battery in 1959.

sounds like we need to get off our collective butts and harness the most powerful (and free) power source we have. or we can continue to send gobs of money to the people who wanna bomb us and use excuses why we can't achieve other stuff.

how weird is it that we have all the free energy we could ever want beating down on us each day and we can't harness it?

We can harness it. It's expensive and only available part of the time.
Knock yourself out.

at some point in the future, it will be cost efficient and storage will make up for any cloudy days. we're just not there yet. but i do think it's ironic that the sun's energy beats down on us (for free).....
That's the primary problem, for "conservatives". They haven't (yet) figured-out how to limit everyone (else's) access to the Sun.

Priority 1 (regarding "conservative"-investments) is whether-or-not it can be monopolized. If the product and/or process CAN'T be monopolized, it's considered a bad-investment.

it will be very interesting, once solar power matures, how US industry/government restricts it from the average joe. there is no way that the oil/natural gas/electricity companies are gonna let themselves be cut out. there will be a big fight.

We could drill in ANWR and build a pipeline for Canadian oil.
And we could start that today.
More nuke plants would be a good idea as well.

Haven't you heard? High Food & Gas Prices are good now. Well, according to the Obama Wingnuts anyway.

Hell....we're half-way there.

The Ultimate target should be elimination of....

Eventually, you should be able to run-down to your nearest hardware/tool-outlet.....pick-up a case o' solid-hydrogen canisters (like a case of oil).....load-up the "magazine", in your on-site generator.....DONE!!!

A "spent" canister would be ejected.....and, a new one loaded....and, you'd no-LONGER worry about power-lines being blown-down....by hurricanes or otherwise!! AND.....you'd be able to live ANYWHERE there was WATER, available!!!!

Big Brother will never allow you such independence and freedom. It just aint gonna happen. Nice fantasy though. Enjoy.

$4 gas will be rejoiced by the whackaloon left as evidence that we all need curly light bulbs and battery operated cars.

You give his followers far too much credit. Most just aren't that intelligent. Most still think Obama is going to pay their rent and fill up their cars. We're not dealing with brainiacs here.

Ya' can't very-well consider this experiment the Final Product. Hell....this video is (nearly) 4 years old! Components have gotten smaller/less-expensive.

That's the biggest goddamned-problem with manufacturing/industry, in the U.S., presently.....none of the "professional"-managers want to waste any cash on R&D!!!!

You sound like you'd be a great "professional"-manager.

Ah, yes.....Traditional energy-providers should be entitled to own our Future!!!

I'm sure you "conservatives" can find that in The Bible, somewhere.....

Stupid Teabaggers

Nice to see you communist whack job do not support the free market & endorse the tax increase on all US citizens at the pump by repealing the ethanol tax cut we all have enjoyed for many years. Enjoy the increased tax at the pump & the price rise from lack of competition since January 1, 2012. Sucking Big Oil's dick just gets him hard so he can shove it further up your ass at the pump. Apparently you retarded fagots like that.

ch.gaschart

Great job FireFly. I have tried to explain to people many times how the ethanol tax break lowered gas prices at the pump. It is like talking to a wall. Actually walls are smarter. Not only do these idiots cheer paying more taxes at the pump, but they enjoy the lack of competition allowing prices to spiral. Cheering rising fuel prices on US citizens & the loss of 400,000 ethanol jobs is most un-American. At 1 million barrels per day the USA is the worlds largest ethanol producer. Ethanol has replaced 12% of our nations oil imports powering over 13 million US automobiles. Sadly that number stopped increasing & ethanol production is now in decline since Jan 1, 2012. see article below:

Jan. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Ethanol production in the U.S. fell 0.7 percent to 934,000 barrels a day, the lowest level since Nov. 25, according to an Energy Department report.

The third consecutive weekly drop matches the longest such streak since the period ended Sept. 23. Stockpiles climbed 1.4 percent to 19.8 million barrels, the highest level since the week ended May 27, the department said in a report released today in Washington. Inventories have swelled six straight weeks, the longest streak since Jan. 21, 2011.

You'll have to explain how ending a $.54 per gallon subsidy, divided by 10 (10% ethanol), would cause a $.25 per gallon rise in prices. Please show all your work. Thanks!

Like I said in the post you replied to that answered all your ignorant questions before you even ask them. Walls are smarter than you.:cuckoo:
