This sure wont help OBAMA. Gas prices will be over 4.00 by spring

Hopefully the price is a lot higher than $4 for a gallon come election time. That will ensure the Hussein gets the boot.
Yet another America hating POS hoping for bad things to happen to the American economy so his Party can gain a political advantage. Go fuck yourself, traitor!

$4.00 a gallon for gas will be cheap once Iran closes the Strait of Hormoz to all exept what they want to export going to whoever they want to export it to.

Really afraid of the Iranian navy, eh?
Do you mean the navy that St Ronnie sank?

Am I to believe that you actually think Rush said something true? I thought he only uttered lies. Therefore, how can this be an accurate statement by your logic?

Ohhhhh that's right, the double standard double think rule. It's only true if it makes a short term political point now.

Hey dumbass, I was MOCKING your MessiahRushie's lie about Reagan sinking Iran's navy. :asshole:

Bad energy policy by decreasing secure domestic production means we're subject to the trials and tribulations of imported fuel from unsecure sectors of the world. Not to mention, trouble in the middle east ALWAYS increases fuel costs. It seems the world's investors see Iran gumming up the works and decreasing overall supply. I'd go long on oil too if I could invest in it.

That would be a great story, if it didn't have several false elements. The parts about uncertainty about the Middle East? Correct. Decreased domestic supply? Not so much. In fact, the past two years were the first in two decades where domestic output rose year over year.

N. American oil output could top 40-year-old peak - Houston Chronicle

In fact, American domestic production is in such a boom right now that Canada is concerned about the impact on their market.

Growing U.S. energy output a threat to Canada | Edmonton Journal

Crude oil is a no brainer. We've had companies parked in the oil rich countries of the middle east all of my life....77 years. We're burning theirs and saving ours. We're even continuing to buy their crude, pump it into evacuated salt mines and save most of ours. Do you think our government is so stupid as to run our own oil reserves out and leave our military with nothing to burn

We're burning theirs and saving ours...have been for 80 years.

It sure will effect him since he will not ok the pipeline open more drilling in the gulf. He helping hurting us with his policies then help!! The left blamed bush all the time when the gas prices raised but when Obama is on watch its not his fault.
Why, so we can EXPORT more gasoline? That's right, the oil monopoly is exporting gas because we are already producing more than we consume. More drilling will not lower the price, it will only lead to more exports.

You're such an Ameri-centered isolationist dolt..
Are you so arrogant to believe that but for additional supply here in the US, the price of oil and gas would not be effected by new sources of oil?
The commodities markets do not just look to the US for guidance. Theirs is a global business.
It matters not whether the new supply of fuel is exported for sale. It is the existence of that new supply which steers the price.
Umm we do not export more than we consume. Gasoline and diesel are exported because it is a commodity. That means the product can fetch a potentially higher price to the bidder.
As prices fluctuate, refiners look to the world market which includes the US, to see where the best price is. If refiners can get a bigger bang for their buck on the domestic market, they will sell the supply here. If that happens overseas, it is because the marketplace dictates that.
At the end of the day, this pipeline gives the US more freedom from the geo-political volatility of traditional oil producing nations. Especially those nations.
in the Middle East and North Africa.
Those in the environmental, alternative fuel and green energy camps want it both ways.
They get pissed when the price of gas rises sharply. They also cannot stomach the idea of more production. This is why that movement gets no respect with the everyday American.

Obama sets gas prices?????????

Who Knew?????

Gasoline prices had been falling for some time in response to the slowing world economy.

Until congress just let the ethanol tax credit expire at the first of the year.

So now you have to pay more taxes on your gasoline at the pump.

This also cut gasolines competition so gas prices will continue to rise.

This caused a price spike at the pump that took effect January 1, 2012. Enjoy the higher prices.

Horse shit..That story is a bunch of hooey.
Ethanol(E-85) was never an alternative choice to gasoline. In this market( two million people in the MSA) there was a grand total of TWO stations that sold E-85. Essentially the subsidy was a tax on everyone who did not use E-85. Which meant 99.9% of us.
Ethanol as a fuel for internal combustion engine is garbage.
Ethanol eats away at the internal engine parts causing excessive wear. Ethanol produces a 10 to 20% loss in engine power. Ethanol burns less efficiently causing a loss in fuel economy.

If true it will only be because of manipulation.

Did you mention that ethanol drives up food prices and tends to cause riots in 3rd world countries?

Wow - Another stupid myth believer.

Ethanol does not take food away from anyone or cause food prices to rise. Ethanol plants turn corn into DDG animal feed. This feed contains all the protein of the corn that was used to make ethanol. Only the corn starch was turned into ethanol. The DDG protein still feeds the same numbers of animals as the corn would have that was used for ethanol. The ethanol tax was also a myth. It was a tax credit that lowered the prices at the pump. There was no extra tax on gasoline. It was a tax break for you on every gallon of gas with ethanol in it. Nearly every gallon of gas sold in the USA has 10% or more ethanol in it. That means EVERYONE got a tax break at the gas pump.

Umm...Care to explain why corn based food products saw sharp increases in price soon after Ethanol subsidies were introduced?
No of course you won't. You'll dig up some bullshit produced by an enviro-blogger.
The fact is, farmers were growing corn and instead of sending it for food processing, were taking advantage of the marketplace by sending it to Ethanol producers.
Ethanol producers which had a limited market to sell their product.
Look, Ethanol is OVER. Even the far left wing Obama regime had to throw in the towel.
I'll state this to you as I have in earlier threads...
You people will have my full support if: an alternative to an oil based fuel can perform as well or better than gasoline, cost the same or less than gasoline, does not cause harm to internal combustion engines or engine parts, burns as or more efficiently as gasoline and is as readily available as gasoline. Until then this ridiculous yammering and pining for an alternative NOW!!! should STOP NOW.
Have at it.

Food prices rise as dollar declines. Not because of tax credits enacted in 1979. :cuckoo: The VEETC was a credit for any blender of ethanol into the petroleum gasoline stream. It replaced a set of subsidies begun in 1979 for the federal tax exemption of gasoline blended with at least 10% ethanol (gasohol) by the Energy Tax Act. Fuel blender's tax credits and a pure alcohol tax credit were subsequently added, achieving roughly the same goals, but available to smaller fuel blenders that were unable to receive the excise tax exemption. The VEETC streamlined this system and provided a single mechanism for subsidizing ethanol use.

None of my links are from enviro-bloggers. :cuckoo:

Today the USA exports more Corn, DDG feed & Ethanol than it did 5, 10, 20 & 30 years ago. What f#@king corn was diverted from food processing? :cuckoo:

We have run our entire fleet on E85 for over 10 years now & never had one fuel related breakdown.

It is funny how you have no knowledge of the subject but have been thoroughly brainwashed by the media. :cuckoo: Just wait until Iran jacks oil prices 40% overnight & there is no gas for your tank!

You explain in brief the fact but conveniently forget to include the how and the why.
Back to work with you.
Nice try.
You still cannot get past the bottom line. Ethanol is DEAD...No one wants to use it. No company will invest in it. And the federal government wised up and canceled their yearly paycheck for it.
Now about that alternative fuel..Any ideas? Or are you convinced you have all the answers...
L-A-M-E.....Argument..
Look here sunshine....Gas is going to exceed $4 per gallon this summer. If there is one consumer item that when it goes up in price that really pisses off Americans, that is the price of gas. And Americans will look to point the finger of blame. And historically the blame for poor economic times and high prices goes to the sitting president.
My thinking is either Obama backs off on his very bad decision ( politically speaking) on Keystone or he rolls out the "Greedy Big Oil" card. In observing Obama's gigantic ego, he will do the latter. Won't work. Four bucks a gallon and Obama is a one term president.

You Lost The Argument SON! - The problem with stupid people is they just don't know how stupid they really are!

Notice how China's Corn Exports went to zero? At the same time US Corn Exports Grew!!! With all the weak US dollars flowing to China they decided it it was cheaper for them to buy USA corn than to buy their own. This is the only reason corn prices rose in US Dollar terms.

ORNL%20report%20corn%20exports_Page_15.jpg

imo...it won't matter if gas is $5/gallon....obama will win. gas prices only matter if a pub is president. if a lib is president, gas prices are high because obama is trying to ween us off gasoline.

get it?
