That is your opinion, not a fact. That is patently false.
I had ESL students who could not pass the competency class in order to receive a high school diploma in FL.

There simply is not much use for farmers and ranchers to learn foreign languages if there is no one in the community to talk to!
I taught for 21 years and was an assistant principal who ran the testing program. My school had 3260 students. How about you?I've been teaching ESL (among other things) for over 28 years. How about you?
Yes, but we did cartwheels when an ESL student actually received a diploma. They were few and far between. And some students don't pass History, or Math, or Biology, etc.
Was that the students fault or yours?Yes, but we did cartwheels when an ESL student actually received a diploma. They were few and far between.
Nonsense. These days, students can receive a seal of biliteracy on their diploma if they pass a proficiency test in their senior year. More and more jobs across the country each year look for or require a minimum of bilingualism for certain jobs. Can't hide from the future.Yes, but we did cartwheels when an ESL student actually received a diploma. They were few and far between.
You gave your opinion That is all.Um, I've already told you.
That is your district or state. Have a nice day after you put that broad brush away.Nonsense. I have visited schools all across the country (and the world) over the years. Look, you know what you know and I know what I know. Different areas of expertise. It's nothing personal. That is your district or state. Have a nice day after you put that broad brush away.
In Florida, all teachers in core content areas must complete ESL training back when I taught there.Taught ESL?
That's fine with me if you wish to continue wallowing in your ignorance. I am done arguing with Mr. Know-it-all.SEI certification is great, but it's not teaching ESL.
