Chris Hansen is out on his ass ... with practically none of his belongings.

Sources tell TMZ ... the former host of "To Catch a Predator" was escorted out of his Manhattan apartment February 6 by city marshals, but not before throwing a Hail Mary.

We're told Hansen tried to be slick ... telling the marshals the attorneys worked out a deal. The marshals weren't buying it and called the landlord's legal muscle. Sure enough ... no deal was in place. We're told Hansen didn't put much of a fight after that, and -- as one source put it -- "went out like a church mouse.""

'To Catch a Predator' Host Chris Hansen Scrambled for Possessions After Eviction

I have no problem his TV show, but he was such a smug ass I kind of enjoyed reading how he has fallen. That he lied to the marshals should have gotten him charged, but I guess they figured he was screwed enough.

I have never evicted myself out of my own home before. I ought to try it and see what it's like...But Manhattan I am sure is pretty step rent or mortgages.

Completely lock yourself out at an inconvenient time. I am sure it is practically the same thing. In my state the sheriff serves f possible, posts if necessary notice at least 72 hours before the big day and the court usually gives the people ten days before it gets to that point so they have had plenty of opportunity to prepare. I've had to do it a few times. I try to avoid it and will work with people if there is some good faith stuff going on, but if people won't pay, won't leave, and try to avoid you, you have to do what you have to do.
