Tom Petty estate slams Kari Lake use of I Won't Back Down: "shocked that it's stolen, used without permission", will sue for promoting failed campaign

Which is why we have copyright laws.
That's why this is so stupid. They can't regulate who plays the songs anymore that an author can regulate who reads their books.

As long as Lake pays the royalties (she did) then there is NOTHING the wokester morons of the Petty estate can do.

Tom Petty's estate is just finding an excuse to keep the money rolling in for another 20 years.

I don't know about that.

The only money that will roll in is from royalties. Pretty stupid to try and cut off a revenue stream.

Of course they have no ability to. They're just load mouthed wokesters throwing a tantrum.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
What a fucktard you are,

Dig that ignorance, really grind it in, moron.

Do you REALLY thing Tom Petty gave permission to every radio station across the globe that played one of his songs>

You REALLY think that?

Ah the stupidity that makes a wokester...

Oh yes you can be sued. Nice try.

What would you sue them for, smart boi?

When you PUBLISH a song, you have ONE right - to be paid for it's use. This is called a "royalty" payment, Royalties are based on scales of the type of use.

SINCE the Lake campaign paid the statutory royalties - what EXACTLY would the Petty estate sue for?
