I don't know that this is going to end up being correct as it needs to be accompanied by some kind of major study. Thus far, this looks like the vaccination debacle. I appreciate the attention to this subject as it is near and dear to me.

As people have stated before, improved diagnosis, and an expanding of the autistic spectrum. Also I doubt any numbers coming from things like this on their face. The Lancet Study shows people in this field will make crap up.

That the spike in autism coincides with GMO foods is certainly suspect. But I doubt it's any one thing and more likely a lot of things which added together cause these issues. If it was one cause it'd be easy to pinpoint. That there's so much "I dunno" suggests the cause is in fact a "causes" which cumulatively result in autism and other malodies.

Flouride's another big worry and pretty much everyone but the US has banned it already.

Antibiotics in food, mercury and industrial pollutants in seafood, pesticides in produce....There's lots of risk factors most Americans have going on that tracing a birth defect to any single cause or even group of causes is difficult if not impossible. Like with how many carcinogens are everyday things we all use, is it makeup that caused a cancer or something else? Since so many risk factors are in every individual, we can't know for certain which one was the last straw that caused a problem. Best we can do is minimize risk factors, avoid what we can, minimize what we can't.
