Transgender Biden official Rachel Levine says hormones can help kids 'going through the wrong puberty'

By "many", you mean a few people who are happy that they found someone to listen to their sob stories?
Only about 2% of people who transition change back, and most of them because people in their lives don't accept their new identity.

You're just flat wrong .. more like 5-10%, as outlined in the NBC article below, especially as this social contagion continues to spread.

Transgender Detransition Surgery Is On The Rise

Detransition surgery is on the rise among the transgender community, seeing a sharp increase in recent years. Previous studies using data from before 2015 found that detransition surgeries were incredibly rare at a rate of less than 1%. Recent studies have shown a dramatic increase in the detransition rate, hovering around 5-10%. This is partly due to the increase in gender dysphoria diagnoses, especially among the 6-17-year-old age range. Diagnoses in this age range grew from 15,172 in 2017 to 42,167 in 2021, nearly doubling between 2020 and 2021.

I'm offering to look at whatever information you present about SSRI's and if it warrants outrage, I'll be outraged.

Never mind, I took a quick look. If you meant that doctors over prescribe SSRI's to kids and in fact over prescribe medications in general, you're right. I see it every day as a Special Ed teacher.

Special ed teachers... you guys are a large part of the problem. You keep mistaking your lack of classroom management skills for "ADHD". Get little Timmy on Ritalin so I can handle him!

On that point, we have several right wing teachers on this board. You, Sweet Sue, Unkatare.... and listening to your rants, I can see why education is producing generations of dummies while the Chinese run circles around us.

Not talking about surgical detransition, just detransitioning in general. (i.e. people who live as their identified sex for a while and turn back due to social pressure.)

As a parent, I never put my youngest son on adhd meds, even though the school recommended he "see a doctor," which is school-speak for "get little Timmy on Ritalin." Now that he is an adult in college, he saw his own doctor, started taking the latest version of Ritalin and is much happier with the way he feels and the way he performs at school and work.

That's how it should be, kids should never be put on medication to satisfy an adult agenda.

As a teacher, I never recommend meds to parents, nor even bring them up. Some teachers and counselors do, which IMO is as ethically wrong as a school recommending a gender specialist.

Except that chemical castration does a lot more harm to the individual child than Ritalin. Yes, many more children are referred to physicians and psychiatrists for behavior issues mainly caused by the environment of schools these days. But the number of children referred to gender specialists due to the social contagion in schools these days is growing rapidly.

Not really. You see, as much as I see religion as silly, I would never deprive them of decent treatment, not even the Mormons.

Actually, the fact you aren't as outraged by the SSRI's (hundreds of thousands of kids get them) compared to puberty blockers (only a few hundred get them for gender dysphoria), says you are the one who is "Geeked up".

Bullshit. you are far too petty for me to believe that.

those treat an actual problem, puberty blockers create problems.

A few hundred is bullshit. those are only the ones we hear about.

a mild anti depressant for someone who is actually depressed is a proper treatment. (along with therapy) It's when they go to the drug cocktail that there is an issue.

Thats what being a Transexual means

Waiting till a child has gone through full puberty before transitioning results in the Transexual “freaks” that Conservatives love to mock.

If the only way for there to be “passable” trans people is to inject children with steroids and puberty blockers…… maybe that’s a sign it shouldn’t be done

Makes me think of castrati. For the sake of a particular musical style in the 18th century, many young boys were castrated at the age of eight to ten years old or so, to prevent them from developing normal men's voices, to develop instead a particular kind of voice that was suited to that style of music.

Neither am I .. I'm focused on individuals who jumped into the social contagion we call "transgenderism" and then quickly realized they fucked up and received treatment that WILL complicate their lives long-term. Even hormone treatments have life-long consequences.

These decisions are being rushed .. as many of those who have "de-transitioned" have testified.. and are currently filing suit with the providers that rushed them. It's all about money ... and "gender affirming care" is a cash cow.
Anything a leftist liberal thinks is right or good in 2023 and possibly long before, is absolutely absurd and not very well thought out.

But is it growing because it's a crazy fad (the fantasy or the right wing) or are they growing because people are recognizing the signs.

I'm an old man. Most of what you would recognize today as learning disabilities, were just chalked up to the kid being "slow" or "unruly".

When I went to school, Sister Mary Butch* had a great cure for ADHD. It was called a ruler across the knuckles. Bitch had your undivided attention after that.

And were is your medical degree from?

The Castrati were created by the Roman Catholic Church... are you arguing religion is a bad thing, Bob?

There's a documentary on HBO called "Transhood" that is an eye opener. I assume that it is supposed to be a defense of the transgenderization of children movement, but to me, it exposes several things wrong with it, while trying to defend it.

Wait, are you talking about puberty blockers or SSRI's? To me the argument is identical for either.

If by "recognizing the signs," you mean that counselors are telling kids they are trans based on "signs," instead of the kid saying "I'm a boy in a girl's body," I'm sure you are right. It's tragic, especially since gender dysphoria is co-morbid with other mental disorders such as autism, and depression.

Yes, and those kids kept failing until they dropped out and became permanent menials or criminals. Praise Allah that we are past those old days.

Yes, that worked so well that when Sister Mary said, "go see Father Flannigan, he has a sore and swollen area that he needs you to rub for him," she got no argument and neither did the good Father.

It sounds like you are applying your own biases. YOU find the notion of having your dick chopped off offensive. I agree, I wouldn't ever find that a good option.

I think we are talking about a chicken and the egg kind of situation. Is little Timmy depressed because he's depressed, or is he depressed because he knows he's rather be wearing dresses and playing with dolls?

Yes, and those kids kept failing until they dropped out and became permanent menials or criminals. Praise Allah that we are past those old days.
I agree. They need special attention and additional training. Glad we are past those days.
Just like the LGBTQ kids used to be told to "Man up" until they kept failing to socialize and eventually ran away from home. We need to get past those days.

While I'm never above making a cheap shot at the Church of Rome, I don't think the nuns were complicite in what the priests were doing. They were awful, bitter old women, who probably WOULD have been better off if they had just been allowed to live their life as lesbians. The problem with the priests is that a lot of them were shipped off to the seminary as soon as they started singing show tunes. They didn't get to develop normal sexuality. Some abused their position, and the rest didn't have the context to realize how do deal with it.

The good news is that when the Gay rights movement happened. Which meant if you were a gay Catholic Kid, you didn't get shipped off to the Holy Orders.

You don't need a medical degree to see cause and effect. Just look at what happened to that poor Jazz person.

Proof it only gets worse as they get older, otherwise leaving them with a lifetime of hell and confusion on their hands after all was said and done.

Um, seems to me that she's doing fine.

Jazz Jennings is embracing adulthood.

In the new season of I Am Jazz, the TLC star and activist is headed back to Harvard University for her sophomore year, she's dating for the first time in years and she's intent on asserting her independence.

Of course, that occasionally creates a bit of friction with her mother Jeanette, and in an exclusive sneak peek at the season 8 premiere, the 22-year-old locks horns with her mom when Jeannette crashes Jazz's outing to a Selfie Museum with friends.

Oh, she's also gotten death threats... from "Good Christians" no doubt.

The TLC personality previously spoke about the threats during an interview with People in January 2023.

"I get death threats almost on a daily basis," Jazz told the outlet at the time. "People will comment on my photos saying, 'Burn in hell. Kill yourself. You're in abomination.'"
She continued, "But when someone sends a threat to where you live and they know your location, it's a really, really scary feeling knowing that someone is kind of stalking you a little bit and they have these ill intentions."

Jazz noted that she feels safe at school, but is still scared about the situation. "I do feel protected at school. I think they have my back and they're going to handle any situation," she explained. "But it is really, really scary. And it's sad that we live in a world where people want to kill others just for being who they are."

Hey, Seymour... Bob... Marty... Maybe you can take a lesson here.

Whitewashing.

The simple fact is the hormones they gave him/her made normal surgery impossible.

He/She didn't balloon up in weight because they were happy.

No, she probably ballooned up for the reason most people do in college....

You really haven't shown me where she is unhappy.

That wasn't 15 lbs. Plenty of stories on how fucked up the situation is if you bother to look.
