But it's not like Trans people just throw on the clothes of the opposite sex and declare their gender changed. Actually, many of them DO just throw on the clothes of the opposite sex and declare their gender changed. SOME of them undergo various amounts of medical tampering, but many of them don't - perhaps because they don't have the money, or they're afraid of complications, or whatever. Also, because there are a LOT of procedures involved in "transitioning", it's not something one does quickly over a weekend. So even for someone who does intend to go the whole distance, there's a long period of time in which they're identifying as the opposite sex while still biologically being the sex they were born.

So even for someone who does intend to go the whole distance, there's a long period of time in which they're identifying as the opposite sex while still biologically being the sex they were born.
