If Trump isn't the R candidate then it would be by his own choice due to an R loss in the election. The only other way he wouldn't be running is if he is dead. Or as good as dead if he's arrested by the establishment!
DeSantis is only preparing ahead of time for either possibility. He will never take a chance of challenging a fully intact Trump!
