Trump Extends Temporary Protected Status to Salvadorans in the U.S.

Didn't we topple their govt too? Man,. these damn migrations and these fuggin' immigrants.

A Century of U.S. Intervention Created the Immigration Crisis
The liberal rhetoric of inclusion and common humanity is insufficient: we must also acknowledge the role that a century of U.S.-backed military coups, corporate plundering, and neoliberal sapping of resources has played in the poverty, instability, and violence that now drives people from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras toward Mexico and the United States. For decades, U.S. policies of military intervention and economic neoliberalism have undermined democracy and stability in the region, creating vacuums of power in which drug cartels and paramilitary alliances have risen. In the past fifteen years alone, CAFTA-DR — a free trade agreement between the U.S. and five Central American countries as well as the Dominican Republic — has "); background-size: 1px 1px; background-position: 0px calc(1em + 1px);">restructured the region’s economy and guaranteed economic dependence on the United States through massive trade imbalances and the influx of American agricultural and industrial goods that weaken domestic industries. Yet there are few connections being drawn between the weakening of Central American rural agricultural economies at the hands of CAFTA and the rise in migration from the region in the years since. In general, the U.S. takes no responsibility for the conditions that drive Central American migrants to the border.

U.S. empire thrives on amnesia. The Trump administration cannot remember what it said last week, let alone the actions of presidential administrations long gone that sowed the seeds of today’s immigration crisis. There can be no common-sense immigration “debate” that conveniently ignores the history of U.S. intervention in Central America. Insisting on American values of inclusion and integration only bolsters the very myth of American exceptionalism, a narrative that has erased this nation’s imperial pursuits for over a century.

America runs the world.

The empire is in decline and the power structure knows it, that's why you must be walled in, kept under constant corporate state surveillance, Palestinianized with the assistance of Israeli intelligence and controlled by a militarized police force. Fweedumb.

The social democracy is in decline.
Not America.
Countries around the world are protesting over big government socialism and communism.
Many are winning by the way. :)

Oh yeah, sure, of course, you betcha. You do not want to learn that stuff. Did you notice that Don had two years with a majority in both the house and the senate and did nothing in terms of immigration legislation? Nothing. And so did Obama with his two first years of majorities in both the house and the senate. He deported tons of 'em, had concentration camps too. All while we redistribute societal wealth upward.

Ever stop believing to think?
