Trump Floored By MASSIVE Sales Tax Avoidance Scandal, Campaign Goes Silent

Can someone....(maybe you Mac1958) please explain to me in kindergarten level talk,

How can someone write off $940 million as a personal loss on his personal income taxes, when it was money he borrowed from bankers/investors, that he declared bankruptcy on, so he only had to pay them back pennies on the dollar...yet he gets to write off the whole $940 million as his own loss?

I am so confused on this?

Donald never had $940 million of his own money to lose?
You are assuming that all taxes are personal taxes. It's obvious that the money was a business loss.
Doesn't the business have to do a separate tax return?

Yes. When someone claims a business loss on personal taxes, it's usually as an investment loss.

There are various classifications for entities to file taxes with different outcomes.

Well when 1 percent of the population controls such a big part of all the wealth .....imagine the utter cruelty of having them pay some taxes. The big picture is big money in this country controls the tax code. The laws are written to their advantage. Don't worry Richies, we got your backs .

What do we have here? Another business that is found not to be paying "their fair share" of taxes? So the Clinton camp wants everyone to believe no other businesses will be uncovered using accountants to find those benefits, contributions, and charities that will help them avoid paying an excessive amount in taxes during difficult times? Exactly how many businesses encountering financial difficulty (like the New York Times) will raise up to the surface and be found guilty of using our tax system to benefit the CEO? All while liberals lay claim to the fact that Businesses, and Americans alike, don't take advantage of those benefits that allow them to pay less in taxes.
How about Trump and the New York times releasing the past 20 years of tax returns so we can compare the two and see who has paid more federal and State income taxes as a percentage?

Is Trump having to face a prison sentence? Perhaps we should have businesses and the Clinton's not use accountancts, and look for those loop holes to pay less in taxes. I'd be willing to bet the Clintons took advantage of the tax system, they established a Foundation to keep from paying their fair share over the middle class.

By the way, Wesley Snipes and Willy Nelson flat out refused to even FILE taxes on their income, big difference between that and using deductions and contributions the way Trump, the New York Times, and the Clintons each used the tax system to their advantage.

Sure!

Let me ask you something, do you consider 34.5% paid in federal income tax and another 9% in State income tax after all tax deductions are taken and loopholes used, not paying a fair share in taxes?

If going back to 1986 is what the Crooked Hillary folks want to do, let's talk about Crooked Hillary making $100,000 playing the cattle futures market with a little help from insiders. :p CPAs get graduate degrees in taxation so they get hired by folks to minimize their taxes. It is totally legal. Insider trading like Crooked Hillary did is not legal.

Along with the New York Times discovery that Trump lost nearly $1 billion in 1995, it was also discovered that Donald Trump is known for evading taxes — even sales taxes. Forbes dug up a criminal case from 1986 wherein Donald Trump was evading New York state sales tax in collusion with a Bulgari jewelry store. The high-end jewelry store and Donald Trump seemed to have worked out a deal where Trump could avoid paying sales tax to the state and the city.

Trump would enter the store at the Fifth Avenue location in Manhattan to purchase a piece for a wife or girlfriend such as an expensive watch or necklace. Under normal circumstances, Bulgari would charge the customer sales tax, which would then be later paid to state coffers.

But Trump and Bulgari had a deal. As a way to illegally avoid paying the sales tax, normally a pretty large sum on expensive jewelry, Trump would “ask” the store to ship the jewelry to an out-of-state address so that sales tax would not be collected.

Many online vendors sell out-of-state and are not required to collect or pay state sales tax unless they have a store or business location in the state where the item is delivered. But this was in 1986 before internet commerce and even today, state budgets are suffering from the practice.

What Forbes discovered is that the store would ship an empty box to the out-of-state address, and Trump and his current arm candy would walk out of the store with the jewelry.

New York tax collectors caught up to Bulgari and Trump and a number of others using this scam to cheat the State of New York out of rightful revenue, and Trump was called to testify against the store to protect himself against charges. According to The Los Angeles Times, Trump purchased over $65,000 worth of jewelry using this method, which is approximately $142,000 in 2016 dollars.

And the New York Sales tax scam isn’t the only tax evasion in Donald Trump’s past. Trump also stiffed the state of Florida for property taxes on his Mar-a-Lago estate. According to POLITICO reporter Frank Cerabino, Trump purchased the Palm Beach, Florida, estate from cereal empire heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post for the low, low price of $7.5 million. County appraisers, however, assessed the value of the property at $11.5 million when he bought it. This is a common practice, and new property owners are expected to pay property tax on the assessed value after the time of sale. But Donald Trump decided to cheat the county, and pay property taxes at the sales price instead of the actual value. Trump eventually wheedled out of paying the higher property taxes by giving up his development rights on some of the land to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, saving him from paying for the “highest and best use” standard normally used by tax assessors.

Trump obeys tax laws. Clinton doesn't report millions of donations, which is against the law. So Matt prove you're not a tool and go against Hillary. Since the tax issue is so important to you.
Where did you get the idea Clinton doesn't report donations? Who told you that? I think you have your target of scammers confused. Clinton didn't use foundation money in a Florida pay-for-play maneuver, nor has the Foundation that carries her name lost it's license and fundraising ability in the State of NY for lack of transparency.

If you honestly believe Trump doesn't support our military as Kahne suggests, is only after his own self interests because "he didn't pay his fair share", then Hillary supporters need to give an explanation for Gerorge Soros. As I have recently discovered, one of the democrats biggest supporters owes around $7 Billion in unpaid taxes. Some people might consider that to be substantial in his efforts to find loopholes in the system. Do you still want to talk about how only Trump should be deemed as unsupportive of our government system through his use of the tax code?

Once you get thru Ms. Zanotti's vitriolic hyperbole of the first two paragraphs her musings make sense. I happen to like Mr. Soros' politics, but when it comes to scamming on taxes, my contempt is 'equal opportunity' and as close to absolute as one can get.

So where are his convictions?

They got sent to Hillary Clinton's email account.

When you research it out and discover that businesses "legally" shuffle their yearly income's around, to satisfy those taxes for when the business was suffering from lost revenue, it begins to deflate Hillary's argument against Trump. Deflategate 2 perhaps? Anyways, it becomes even more damning on the left when Hillary's own supporters are guilty of not paying their taxes through shady income displacement efforts.

Even Mrs. Clinton, can throw millions into creating a foundation (which is a tax haven shelter for the rich), call it a charity organization, and use it to place all the Clinton's $25,000 speaking engagements. Incidentally, would we be able to find one of the Clinton's large speaking endorsements to be on the subject of 'income inequality' ?

If you honestly believe Trump doesn't support our military as Kahne suggests, is only after his own self interests because "he didn't pay his fair share", then Hillary supporters need to give an explanation for Gerorge Soros. As I have recently discovered, one of the democrats biggest supporters owes around $7 Billion in unpaid taxes. Some people might consider that to be substantial in his efforts to find loopholes in the system. Do you still want to talk about how only Trump should be deemed as unsupportive of our government system through his use of the tax code?

does he or does he not owe this money? The article implies that he does Not owe the money because before the law came in to affect to close the loophole, soros moved his company overseas??? or I just didn't understand the article???

Trump Floored By MASSIVE Sales Tax Avoidance Scandal, Campaign Goes Silent

BREAKING: Trump Floored By MASSIVE Sales Tax Avoidance Scandal, Campaign Goes Silent

Every shitty thing is coming to the surface on this son of a bitch! He made a mistake running for the presidency! Dumbass.

Trump was made to stop fund raising efforts by a Clinton supporter in New York, for not filing the correct paperwork associated with his foundation.
for 15 years?

Have you ever heard of regulation or form changes? I had to go through three different government forms under Bill Clinton's term, after JUST serving in the military, in order to be in compliance with the proper documentation to begin receiving GI Bill benefits. Do you think anyone should be going through hoops with the government, with each new policy or changes in document wording to be in compliance?

MASSIVE SCANDAL At The New York Times Just Blew Up The Election...

What do we have here? Another business that is found not to be paying "their fair share" of taxes? So the Clinton camp wants everyone to believe no other businesses will be uncovered using accountants to find those benefits, contributions, and charities that will help them avoid paying an excessive amount in taxes during difficult times? According to the link I provided:

Congress, according to Bloomberg, closed the loophole Soros was using in 2008, and ordered anyone who used the loophole to pay up before 2017. Soros, who invested billions, probably owes the IRS somewhere in the ballpark of $7 billion in tax revenue

I also looked into how George Soros was able to do it through some research into another trusted website on the issue - Forbes. I did a brief summary of that link, but you can see how he was able to shift his millions in attempt to avert paying taxes. I also included the link below for your reference.

Yet I can't help but think, this is the same man that democrats use when they refer to his statement that he "believes the rich should be paying their fair share".

summarizing:
George Soros made most of his money in Hedge Funds. They aren't as regulated as mutual funds, so you can choose from a wider range of securities. It's a sophisticated form of investment for those willing to take greater risks for greater wealth. When the potential of that wealth grew, so did the potential tax bill. As a solution the funds are moved overseas into offshore hedge funds, where they became taxed based on the country where that account resides.
