In order to make GOOD decisions, people need to learn to think. This involves getting a good education. Nobody is going to do well in the modern world without some semblance of an education. A few people might do well if they got lucky without an education.

The problem here is many in inner cities are getting poor educations and then competing with those who have a good education because their parents care.

You're essentially saying that people make their own decision based on a poor education and lack of job opportunities and they're supposed to do as well as everyone else.

Basically what you're saying is an excuse for ignoring the issue of poor education and pretending that it's all about free will and choices. You don't understand that better choices are made by better educated people.

Also kids are brought up by their parents and suffer at the hands of poorly educated adults.

You give these kids in poor inner city areas the CHANCE to make decent decisions, the desire to make decent decisions so they can make money in a legitimate way, and to make the decision to stay on the straight and narrow because they're getting support from someone other than gangs, and you might get somewhere.

Seems that when Bush is in power it's the unemployment rate that's important, when Obama's in power it's the number who aren't working (including children, old people, dead people, foreigners, illegals, dogs, cats, etc)
