Trump releases 7 point healthcare plan

Healthcare Reform
I wont post his comments and such. Just the plan
  1. Completely repeal Obamacare. Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate. No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to.
  2. Modify existing law that inhibits the sale of health insurance across state lines. As long as the plan purchased complies with state requirements, any vendor ought to be able to offer insurance in any state. By allowing full competition in this market, insurance costs will go down and consumer satisfaction will go up.
  3. Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns under the current tax system. Businesses are allowed to take these deductions so why wouldn’t Congress allow individuals the same exemptions? As we allow the free market to provide insurance coverage opportunities to companies and individuals, we must also make sure that no one slips through the cracks simply because they cannot afford insurance. We must review basic options for Medicaid and work with states to ensure that those who want healthcare coverage can have it.
  4. Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate. These accounts would become part of the estate of the individual and could be passed on to heirs without fear of any death penalty. These plans should be particularly attractive to young people who are healthy and can afford high-deductible insurance plans. These funds can be used by any member of a family without penalty. The flexibility and security provided by HSAs will be of great benefit to all who participate.
  5. Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organizations like clinics and hospitals. Individuals should be able to shop to find the best prices for procedures, exams or any other medical-related procedure.
  6. Block-grant Medicaid to the states. Nearly every state already offers benefits beyond what is required in the current Medicaid structure. The state governments know their people best and can manage the administration of Medicaid far better without federal overhead. States will have the incentives to seek out and eliminate fraud, waste and abuse to preserve our precious resources.
  7. Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products. Congress will need the courage to step away from the special interests and do what is right for America. Though the pharmaceutical industry is in the private sector, drug companies provide a public service. Allowing consumers access to imported, safe and dependable drugs from overseas will bring more options to consumers.

Not too bad. Add competition and remove barriers. Therefore, lowering costs. Actually going after the ruckus that started all of this totalitarian healthcare crap.

Doesn't sound bad, but not sure it will have noticeable effect on healthcare costs. Will it increase costs for many now on obamacare?
Wasn't too specific on that. Probably will be discussed. I question what will happen to all the people that could lose their health insurance. Maybe they wont :dunno:

Losing the mandate brings us back to those with insurance paying for those who don't, so at best this will slow the rate of increase.

Keeping the mandate has us paying insurance for those who don't. Either way the middle class is forced to pay for those that don't or can't afford insurance.

At least the middle class can write off the expense.

Repeal Obamacare and replace that with buying insurance across state lines, HSAs (which already exist) and let the states figure it out is not a plan. You may not like the ACA but let's not pretend this is an actual healthcare plan.

So, back to making lots of money for private companies and back to the old ways then?
Huh? You think insurance carriers are government agencies? You aren't that stupid are you? Who do you think wrote the laws? It's a sweet deal if you can make buying your product the law of the land.
He is a liberal, of course he is that stupid.

Doesn't that mostly help the self employed? Premiums are mostly paid by employers.

Without a mandate we will have lots with no insurance. When they go to the hospital and can't pay it increases costs for everyone.

Trump has claimed the only part of Obamacare that he will keep is the requirement to cover those with pre-existing conditions.......I will not allow people to die in the street

How will Trump pay for it? There is nothing in his plan to cover it

Like you already mentioned that leaves the door open to buy insurance after becoming sick. That is just going to drive up costs.

What you posted was empty of answers. Since we won't deny care to anyone we should require they have healthcare.

Like that issue actually bothers you..
Besides, he clearly stated it was a place to start. Many negotiations and discussions would take place on this policies behalf

So he starts with something that is one step forward and one step back. Where does that bring us?

sounds good

but he doesnt have a pen and a phone to get it done
On his page, he is saying Congress will have to drop their special interests and focus on the American people and get shit done.

you know the establishment of both parties is going to hate that
fuck em. Vote their asses out. If we were to elect someone unorthodox like him, it will open all kinds of doors. IMO of course :)
