Trump Says He Trusts Xi’s Word on Coronavirus: ‘It’s All Under Control’

Trump says that his campaign rallies are "very safe". Really? Are they screening people before they go in?

Wonder what is going to happen when one of his supporters gets the virus from community transmission while at one of his rallies?

This is extremely sad, yet it was predictable. It's exactly why Trump was wrong to say "it's all under control."

Seattle-area officials report new coronavirus deaths, bringing US total to 6

At least four new patients have died from COVID-19 in Washington state, bringing the total number of deaths in the U.S. to at least six as the coronavirus spreads throughout local communities around Seattle, local health officials said Monday.

Public health officials near Seattle reported the nation’s first two deaths in a nearby suburb and several new cases over the weekend. Local officials said that about 50 residents and employees of a nursing care facility were being tested for the new coronavirus after several other people there tested positive. The outbreak there worsened on Monday.

“Unfortunately, we are starting to find more COVID-19 cases here in Washington that appear to be acquired locally here in Washington,” Washington state health officer Dr. Kathy Lofy told reporters at a press conference. “We now know that the virus is actively spreading in some communities.”

Who was patient zero? How did Covid-19 get there? I'm sure Joe Biden knows. If he doesn't Komrad Bernie does.

Not Trump rallies. Biden rallies have all "compromised old folks", if they get it its a death sentence.
Komrad Bernie rallies are safer to attend, all young folks.

What do libs think their President should have done instead?
Downplaying the threat to the public's health. “And again, when you have 15 people — and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero — that’s a pretty good job we’ve done,” he said.

Allowing a political message instead of a science based message be the admin's priority.

Contradicting health experts in the admin's public messaging.
President Trump contradicts health officials on coronavirus response

Not making sure enough test kits are available.
New York Is Making Its Own Coronavirus Test After The CDC’s Tests Have Repeatedly Failed

Not making sure enough protective equipment like the appropriate masks are available.
The Global Shortage of Medical Masks Won't Be Easing Soon

Not making a plan for the increased availability of hospital beds when existing facilities become overwhelmed.

Mistakes the admin has already made in handling the virus.

So it's Trump's fault that private corporations didn't manufacture enough surgical masks to meet demand for all possible scenarios? How exactly could Trump be responsible for the supply side decisions of private industry? Unless you're suggesting that the government should control the production of these commercially available products?

/——-/ You sound like an idiot. Presidents don’t get involved in manufacturing products. We’re not a Central Command economy, you dolt,

Why are you attacking me? Berg80 is the one who suggested that Trump was responsible for the manufacture of commercial products. Try reading it again and notice the obvious use of question marks and biting sarcasm, before slinging the words "idiot" and "dolt" at me.
Don't take it to heart ,,,It's only cellblock

Trump rallies have a lot of old people in them as well. Axios on HBO did a segment on Trump's rallies and showed what they were like. Lots of people in there who are 30 plus.

It's all under control??????????????????????

Coronavirus live updates: Seattle reports new deaths, CDC released woman who tested positive

2:15 pm: CDC released a woman in Texas who tested positive for the coronavirus: ‘Totally unacceptable’
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mistakenly released a woman from quarantine in Texas who tested positive for COVID-19, San Antonio officials said. The woman was among the 91 Americans evacuated from Wuhan and placed in federal, 14-day quarantine at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. The woman tested negative twice for the new coronavirus and was released on Saturday, San Antonio mayor Ron Nirenberg said. “Unfortunately after the person’s release, the CDC received the results of another test that showed a weakly positive confirmation of the virus that causes COVID-19,” Nirenberg said at a news briefing. —Feuer

Well, if she was tested twice and it was negative, then we apparently don't have accurate tests.

I heard that a CT scan of the chest was one way to tell that was the most accurate.

All kidding aside. Are large gatherings of people still a good idea?
Maybe Trump should set an example and do online or TV rallies or wait for warmer weather?
In NYC those who use the subways are exposed, so I guess we have to live our lives and report to work?!
So far the CDC is saying the risk is "low", but why tempt fate?
It must depend upon your personal choices of risk assessment based on known case locations??

There are lots of things that are getting cancelled due to the virus. There was a major car show in Europe that was called off, and there are some countries that are banning gatherings of more than 1,000 people. Matter of fact, even Disneyland has closed overseas.

How practical is a CT scan as a test? Not very. We need mass produced test kits that work ASAP.
Trump is talking with pharmaceutical companies now.

In your opinion is there anything Trump has done in the last 4 years that wasn't wrong?
I'm sorry if a recitation of Big Fat Don's idiotic actions, for which you'd be lighting your hair on fire if done by a Dem, embarrasses you. But at some point you folks are going to have to accept responsibility for this rolling disaster of a presidency.

In your opinion, is there anything Trump has done in the last 4 years that wasn't right?

My question is, why in the hell is it possible for other countries to have large amounts of tests that they got out quickly, when we don't have that many tests or that they aren't accurate?

Why can't we get some of those test kits from other countries? They seem to have zero problems producing them.

Disagree. The other countries need all the test kits they can make . Not to be partisan, but the US moved way too much manufacturing capacity overseas to maximize profits. 97% of all antibiotics and 90% of all active ingredients are manufactured in China. The balance is probably made in India. We do not have much manufacturing capacity here in the US. God only knows what would happen if there was a major war.

In summary, there are test kit shortages everywhere. Some countries have more manufacturing capacity than the US, like China. The US is finding "workarounds" like using many labs instead of many test kits. Trump may be auctioning off test kit production, therapy development, and vaccine development as we type here. He is meeting with the pharmaceutical CEOs now. So we'll see what is possible if we throw enough money at it.

We are way behind most countries in giving tests Thanks Trump

"Those jobs are not coming back", wonder who gave tax breaks to move US factories overseas? At least Trump is trying to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US.

The United States badly bungled coronavirus testing—but things may soon improve
The United States badly bungled coronavirus testing—but things may soon improve | Science | AAAS

Speed is critical in the response to COVID-19. So why has the United States been so slow in its attempt to develop reliable diagnostic tests and use them widely?

The World Health Organization (WHO) has shipped testing kits to 57 countries. China had five commercial tests on the market 1 month ago and can now do up to 1.6 million tests a week; South Korea has tested 65,000 people so far. The U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in contrast, has done only 459 tests since the epidemic began. The rollout of a CDC-designed test kit to state and local labs has become a fiasco because it contained a faulty reagent. Labs around the country eager to test more suspected cases—and test them faster—have been unable to do so. No commercial or state labs have the approval to use their own tests.

In what is already an infamous snafu, CDC initially refused a request to test a patient in Northern California who turned out to be the first probable COVID19 case without known links to an infected person.

If Xi said that this virus was going to be just fine and Trump said it was going to kill billions, you'd people would side with Xi.

Dr. Drew: Media ‘Needs To Shut Up’ About Coronavirus, ‘You’re More Likely To Die Of Influenza’

Dr. Drew: Media ‘Needs To Shut Up’ About Coronavirus, ‘You’re More Likely To Die Of Influenza’

“Let me frame it this way: we have in the United States 24 million cases of flu-like illness, 180,000 hospitalizations, 16,000 dead from influenza,” Dr. Drew said. “Why is that not being reported? Why isn’t the message: get your flu shot?”

:290968001256257790-final:

"The problems have led many to doubt that the official tally of 60 confirmed cases in the United States is accurate. “There have been blunders, and there could be an underlying catastrophe that we don’t know about,” says epidemiologist Michael Mina, who helps run a microbiology testing lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. “It’s been very complicated and confusing for everyone with almost no clarity being provided by the CDC.”

If wishes were horses beggars would ride.

I can't believe how many stupid, made up scenarios you folks keep coming up with to maintain your Orange Man Good mantra.
