The impeached president trump seems content to wait months or even years for the November 3rd election results. He is obviously unaware his presidential term ends in January 2021 whether the presidential election is decided or not.
Perhaps the totals for the national election election might not be completed, but individual states, like California should easily know within days the final results. Nancy Pelosi will win reelection as she has done many times.
However, Mike Pence, like the impeached president trump will no longer hold federal office, so, being the next in the line of succession still in office, Pelosi will become POTUS.
Once the impeached president trump is informed by his advisers of this provision established by the Founding Fathers, it’s doubtful he will sit by patiently awaiting the final election results.
It’s more likely the Supreme Court will step in and order the counting be stopped, then declare the impeached president trump winner. Much the same as occurred in the 2000 election when the conservative majority in the Court stopped the Florida ballot count and appointed Dubya POTUS.
