Actually, Trump can be impeached now, he has committed numerous misdemeanors which warrant impeachment, conviction in the Senate, and removal from office:

His attacks on the judiciary

His providing sensitive information to an adversary state in violation of his oath of office

His incessant lying

His firing of Comey in an effort to derail the Russia investigations

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution authorizes impeachment of the president and removal from office if convicted by the Senate absent criminal wrongdoing.
