If I am walking down a sidewalk and encounter someone, I move aside for them. It is called "Manners", but it is sadly disappearing.

Just spent a day at Niagara Falls and I am appalled at the foreign tourists that have not been schooled on the etiquette of sharing a sidewalk.

Educated Koreans are very polite (why is a long story that might offend some). Trashy young men who want to pretend they are "gangsta" can be clownish assholes. When there is a fight to be had they will fight, though. Gotta give them credit for that.

I have had almost no experience with Koreans. I have lived next to Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Cambodians.....all were quiet, polite and very easy to get along with. Asian people in general simply seem to be less prone to aggression. At least that's the impression I get.

Every time I've met the parents of Korean students I've been tutoring, they gave me a deep, formal bow as soon as they sensed I understood the social expectations.

And if you know the "right" way to drink with a Korean person, you will be greatly appreciated.
