We have a shortage of millions of engineering and stem positions that can’t be filled by an uneducated populous. Oh, there are plenty of unskilled less educated low paying jobs that require multiple jobs to make a living, but as usual, education is the key.

The millions of tech jobs can’t be filled by college graduates either. They require specialized training and certifications. But our education system is groomer our boys to become transgender studies degrees, instead of useful ones. I sit on interview boards occasionally and it’s shocking how few people are qualified, even though on paper they look good.

Stem includes engineering and other college grads, 2 and 4 year corses. Stem includes 2-3 Tech schools as well. Don’t be rediculous. You guys don’t believe in education now you’re saying you don’t even know what STEM stands for.
Science, Technology Engineering and math, all requiring more then HS education level. Do you know that HS DON’t TEACH DEISEL MECHANICS, master electrician, plumbing etc.....
Tech schools mean organized apprentiships with OJT and theoretical class work where kids work into jobs
where you don’t need worry about what they look like on paper. You are very limited about how businesses coop with Tech schools. We are thousands of jobs behind 4-5 year degreed engineering too, let alone doctors, nurses and therapists.....ALL, REQUIRING advanced education many cannot afford.

I don’t have a problem with engineering degrees and other STEM fields. The problem is we import foreigners who get those degrees. Our own kids are dumbed down too much in K-12 to even make it into those programs. We definitely need more cooperation with companies and schools so they are taught real skills.

The millions of tech jobs can’t be filled by college graduates either. They require specialized training and certifications. But our education system is groomer our boys to become transgender studies degrees, instead of useful ones. I sit on interview boards occasionally and it’s shocking how few people are qualified, even though on paper they look good.

Stem includes engineering and other college grads, 2 and 4 year corses. Stem includes 2-3 Tech schools as well. Don’t be rediculous. You guys don’t believe in education now you’re saying you don’t even know what STEM stands for.
Science, Technology Engineering and math, all requiring more then HS education level. Do you know that HS DON’t TEACH DEISEL MECHANICS, master electrician, plumbing etc.....
Tech schools mean organized apprentiships with OJT and theoretical class work where kids work into jobs
where you don’t need worry about what they look like on paper. You are very limited about how businesses coop with Tech schools. We are thousands of jobs behind 4-5 year degreed engineering too, let alone doctors, nurses and therapists.....ALL, REQUIRING advanced education many cannot afford.

I don’t have a problem with engineering degrees and other STEM fields. The problem is we import foreigners who get those degrees. Our own kids are dumbed down too much in K-12 to even make it into those programs. We definitely need more cooperation with companies and schools so they are taught real skills.

Yup, and Charter schools. Our Public schools serve the unions, not the best interests of the students. We have all these young people with loads and loads of student debt and unable to land jobs that will pay enough to build a life and pay off the debt. We have a shortage of millions of engineering and stem positions that can’t be filled by an uneducated populous. The millions of tech jobs can’t be filled by college graduates either. They require specialized training and certifications. But our education system is groomer our boys to become transgender studies degrees, instead of useful ones. I sit on interview boards occasionally and it’s shocking how few people are qualified, even though on paper they look good.

Stem includes engineering and other college grads, 2 and 4 year corses. Stem includes 2-3 Tech schools as well. Don’t be rediculous. You guys don’t believe in education now you’re saying you don’t even know what STEM stands for.
Science, Technology Engineering and math, all requiring more then HS education level. Do you know that HS DON’t TEACH DEISEL MECHANICS, master electrician, plumbing etc.....
Tech schools mean organized apprentiships with OJT and theoretical class work where kids work into jobs
where you don’t need worry about what they look like on paper. You are very limited about how businesses coop with Tech schools. We are thousands of jobs behind 4-5 year degreed engineering too, let alone doctors, nurses and therapists.....ALL, REQUIRING advanced education many cannot afford.

It's not because we aren't spending the money, we are. The more we provide in subsidized loans, the more our universities jack up the prices.

The millions of tech jobs can’t be filled by college graduates either. They require specialized training and certifications. But our education system is groomer our boys to become transgender studies degrees, instead of useful ones. I sit on interview boards occasionally and it’s shocking how few people are qualified, even though on paper they look good.

Stem includes engineering and other college grads, 2 and 4 year corses. Stem includes 2-3 Tech schools as well. Don’t be rediculous. You guys don’t believe in education now you’re saying you don’t even know what STEM stands for.
Science, Technology Engineering and math, all requiring more then HS education level. Do you know that HS DON’t TEACH DEISEL MECHANICS, master electrician, plumbing etc.....
Tech schools mean organized apprentiships with OJT and theoretical class work where kids work into jobs
where you don’t need worry about what they look like on paper. You are very limited about how businesses coop with Tech schools. We are thousands of jobs behind 4-5 year degreed engineering too, let alone doctors, nurses and therapists.....ALL, REQUIRING advanced education many cannot afford.

I don’t have a problem with engineering degrees and other STEM fields. The problem is we import foreigners who get those degrees. Our own kids are dumbed down too much in K-12 to even make it into those programs. We definitely need more cooperation with companies and schools so they are taught real skills.

We have a shortage of millions of engineering and stem positions that can’t be filled by an uneducated populous. Oh, there are plenty of unskilled less educated low paying jobs that require multiple jobs to make a living, but as usual, education is the key.

The millions of tech jobs can’t be filled by college graduates either. They require specialized training and certifications. In public education collective bargaining takes place without the constraining discipline of the market. When school board representatives sit down with union officials to negotiate a labor contract, neither party is under pressure to pay attention to worker productivity or the system's overall competitiveness: if the contract allows some teachers to be paid for hardly working at all, and others to perform incompetently without penalty, there is no real economic danger for either side. After all, most of the monopoly's customers, the schoolchildren, have nowhere else to go. Historically, tax revenues have continued to flow into the schools no matter how poorly they perform. Some public schools have performed worse and worse in recent years, even as per-pupil annual expenditure increases well above the U.S. average.

We have a shortage of millions of engineering and stem positions that can’t be filled by an uneducated populous. Oh, there are plenty of unskilled less educated low paying jobs that require multiple jobs to make a living, but as usual, education is the key.

The millions of tech jobs can’t be filled by college graduates either. They require specialized training and certifications. But our education system is groomer our boys to become transgender studies degrees, instead of useful ones. I sit on interview boards occasionally and it’s shocking how few people are qualified, even though on paper they look good.

Stem includes engineering and other college grads, 2 and 4 year corses. Stem includes 2-3 Tech schools as well. Don’t be rediculous. You guys don’t believe in education now you’re saying you don’t even know what STEM stands for.
Science, Technology Engineering and math, all requiring more then HS education level. Do you know that HS DON’t TEACH DEISEL MECHANICS, master electrician, plumbing etc.....
Tech schools mean organized apprentiships with OJT and theoretical class work where kids work into jobs
where you don’t need worry about what they look like on paper. You are very limited about how businesses coop with Tech schools. We are thousands of jobs behind 4-5 year degreed engineering too, let alone doctors, nurses and therapists.....ALL, REQUIRING advanced education many cannot afford.

I don’t have a problem with engineering degrees and other STEM fields. The problem is we import foreigners who get those degrees. Our own kids are dumbed down too much in K-12 to even make it into those programs. We definitely need more cooperation with companies and schools so they are taught real skills.

Grad schools are filled with foreign nationals for one reason. They are sponsored by corporations in their home nation’s. Regardless. We still don’t have enough educated populous to fill the demand.

Our Private Sector needs to stand up, and our educational system needs to be open to hearing and filling their needs.

“It will give millions of families resigned to financial ruin a chance to rebuild,” Obama said at a event announcing the effort. “By bringing down the foreclosure rate, it will help shore up housing prices for everyone.”

Six years later, Obama is preparing to leave office, and the Home Affordable Modification Program, or HAMP, accepted its final applications Friday having helped a fraction of the homeowners government officials initially expected. About 1.6 million borrowers have seen their mortgage payments lowered through the program so far, but about a third of those people eventually fell behind on their payments again.

“The president set out an ambitious goal that wasn’t met,” said Kevin Stein, deputy director of the California Reinvestment Coalition, a housing advocacy group. “It was definitely a step forward and step in the right direction, but ... a lot of people ended up falling through the cracks.”


HAMP is one of the last remnants of the $700-billion taxpayer bailout effort, known as the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP, put in place during the financial crisis. About $28 billion of that money was carved out to help distressed homeowners by paying banks to lower their interest rates and monthly payments.

It was launched in the midst of one of the deepest housing crises in U.S. history. Millions of people had taken out subprime loans that they could no longer afford, sending foreclosure rates to record levels.

The Obama administration set out to save more homeowners from foreclosure, but the effort has been bedeviled by complaints that banks repeatedly lost homeowners’ paperwork or incorrectly told them they didn’t qualify for help. The Treasury Department didn’t act quickly enough to force banks to abide by the rules of the program, housing advocates have said. Nearly 70% of the homeowners who applied for the program were rejected, according to government data.

A 2014 government report examined the record of four large mortgage servicers and found that black and Latino borrowers were denied entry into the program at a “significantly higher” rate. “Borrowers in substantially minority areas had at least 3% higher denial rates than their comparison populations of borrowers in nonsubstantially minority areas,” according to the Government Accountability Office. “Statistical differences in outcomes among population groups might suggest potential fair lending concerns that merit further examination.”
