The American economy is less entrepreneurial now than at any point in the last three decades. That's the conclusion of a new study out from the Brookings Institution, which looks at the rates of new business creation and destruction since 1978.
Not only that, but during the most recent three years of the study -- 2009, 2010 and 2011 -- businesses were collapsing faster than they were being formed, a first. Overall, new businesses creation (measured as the share of all businesses less than one year old) declined by about half from 1978 to 2011.
U.S. businesses are being destroyed faster than they?re being created

And why is it NO Surprise that this socialist President ACTUALLY admitted that:
"I would like to see the 1,300 insurance companies that pay $100 billion a year in taxes and see 400,000 employees let go!"

Is the above statement NOT any different from the exact words of Obama?
"I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program" Obama speaking to the Illinois AFL-CIO, June 30, 2003.

Tell me if Obama wants a single payer that means 1,300 current payers are out of business!

Do people that voted for this idiot COMPREHEND the enormity of that statement and then realize IT IS HAPPENING!!!

Failing to develop new technologies and competitive business models DOES NOT EQUAL "destroyed".

Call Obama a "socialist" only makes you look foolish.

Some do and love it, alot of laws on here are single payer nuts.....

i have to think the lefties i here are either compkete failures in life and want the govt to bail out their existance or they think most people cant do anything for themselves.

Two words: Bush recession.

We are seeing the corporate takeover and monopolization of American business. Even the farmers are losing ground to CAFO's..

Well you look like a total economic imbecile when you can't even recognize the simple statement "I prefer single payer"
means 1,300 payers go out of business. Is that not a socialist objective.. ONE government. One Payer. One Leader.

Again you can call me names etc. but the FACT is Obama has told us so many times that :
Believes in bankrupting ANY company..much less electric utilities"!"if somebody wants to build coal utility plant it’s just that it will bankrupt them"
Believes that "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket"
Believes gas prices should go up...and backs that belief hiring Energy secretary Chu, who said in 2008“Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

Believes that our military should be demeaned by statements that call our troops nazis or that they methodically bomb villages killing civilians"!

Believes our EPA should be involved in managing dust on country roads or fining a Wyoming welder $75,000 a day for building pond on his property"

Believes in LYING to pass legislation"..Remember "you can keep your doctor"??
Believes there were 46 million uninsured as the facts point out there were less then 4 million"!

I mean this dick for a president is DESTROYING all incentive for people to improve their lives!
EVERYTHING he does and says is complain, find victims... and NOT one positive comment about capitalism,
incentive, entrepreneurs are giving up!

The business climate in Central Florids.....hard hit by the recession.....is kicking into gear. I just had my best month ever in terms of revenues. I wrote about $9000 worth of checks to suppliers this afternoon......with a smile on my face the entire time.

You fucking dummy nutters are trying to convince the world that the US economy is diving......while we all watch it grow. Too stupid for words. At some point, it will have to hit you. And when it does, you will cry....."But Benghaaaaaaaazzzzzzzziiiiiiii!"

Silly fucking nutters.

They watch way too much Motley Fool videos...

When wall street is allowed to steal the savings of hard working citizens, they stop investing & start withdrawing their investments. Proper regulation & enforcement will make people feel secure in their investment ventures. The shadow banking system destroyed faith in business, our economy & this country. It takes 20+ years to rebuild that trust.

That was the same wealth extraction systems that have destroyed many other countries forever. That is why we had laws against it here since the crash of 1929 until repubtards destroyed them.

The Bush economy was good because of Clinton and collapsed towards the end because of Bush.... Obama's economy was crap for 5 years because of Bush but one day might be healthy because of Obama.

Is that how the endless progressive support goes Jake?

They are a myriad of reasons why businesses fail. It's easy for some people to try to find a scapegoat to make themselves feel better.

First quarter GDP.... .1%

"I mapped the state data below. While all states showed steep drops in new firms, New York stands out for its much smaller decline in the share of new companies than other states -- only 18 percent, compared with the 50-state average of 47.2 percent. Illinois, Texas, New Jersey and Missouri round out the top five."

"At the other end, Alaska had the largest drop in new business, at 61 percent. Hawaii, Vermont, New Mexico and Wyoming rounded out the bottom five. Teasing out the causes of the overall decline or the variation between states is difficult; the authors stressed to me that their data don't answer the questions of why or how just yet. But they will be looking into that in the months ahead."

It is such a devastating display of ignorance starting with Obama and on down to total imbeciles that don't comprehend that when a President
says he wants to destroy 1,300 companies that pay $100 billion a year in taxes and put out of work 400,000 people that certainly IS NOT a positive growth plan.
Or a President who says he wants to bankrupt companies or wants to see higher gas prices... are people that truly dense NOT to comprehend that Obama being in the
position he is IN can make those desires reality!
ACA is the first step in destroying 1,300 companies.
His cap and trade plans are to raise utility rates.
And by signing 40% less as many federal oil leases as Bush... THAT certainly doesn't raise oil production!

How about this statistic:
There were 136,790,000 people working full time under Bush in 2008.
http://www.citizen.org/documents/Historical_employment_data.pdf

How many were working full time as of April 2014 118,070,000 under Obama.
? U.S. full-time employees: April 2014, unadjusted number | Timeline

This is a loss of 18,720,000 people THAT WERE working full time in 2008 and are now NOT working... over the last 6 years!

Yup, a lot of baby boomers retiring but we knew that.

hm, you have been shown for a year that folks don't accept your shallow manipulation of numbers for a far right reactionary radical anti American agenda.
