Liberals finally can't declare Conervatives & GOP are making up or manipulating the unemployment numbers! Bernie Sanders, one of the 2 DNC nominees/candidates for President, is tired of the Obama administration lies and Obama Spin machine, and he presents Americans with the current FACTS:

94,610,000 Americans are out of work.

10 % Unemployment

Black teen unemployment rate 30%, 6 times higher than Obama's false claim of 5.1%

Illegal job employment rate higher than rate for Americans...

Job creation rate in SEPT lowest since 1977, only 44% when 50% neeed to sustain level of critically needed yet dwindling Middle Class

There be a shift in the wind, matey - argh...

Applications for US weekly jobless benefits rose last week
22 Oct.`15 - WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits rose slightly last week but the four-week average declined to the lowest level in more than four decades, another sign the job market is healthy.
The number of people applying for benefits edged up by 3,000 last week to 259,000 after two weeks of declines, the Labor Department said Thursday. The four-week average for benefit applications fell by 2,000 to 263,250, the lowest level since December 1973.

There are indications that the economy has slowed in recent weeks. A strong dollar has hurt U.S. export sales and industrial output has weakened as businesses cut back on orders in an effort to trim excess supplies. But so far, this weakness has not spurred a rise in layoffs.Benefit applications are a proxy for job layoffs. Economists like to focus on the four-week average because it is less volatile than the weekly number.

In signs of a slowdown, employers added just 142,000 jobs in September and the government sharply lowered its estimate of gains in July and August. Monthly job growth has averaged a mediocre 167,000 in the July-September quarter, down from 231,000 in the April-June period. "Despite the solid trend in claims, we have seen some slowing in improvements in other labor market indicators, namely nonfarm payrolls," Laura Rosner, an economist at BNP Paribas, wrote in a research note.

I believe the capital gains distinction should end for capitalists whenever wages don't outpace inflation for labor.

Wages have been outpaced by inflation for at least the past 30 years.

Not even the top one percent have kept up.

care to cite how you reached your conclusion? wages outpaced inflation during the lowest unemployment in thirty years, during a previous democrat administration.

It depends, and always has depended, on how you want to define 'unemployed.'

Statistical analysis is worthless with the contextual facts that surround the numbers 100 percent of the time all the time.

You cant make a point with the above without examining those details as to why the 10% number matters or what its impacts are. Obama's claim is not false, 5.1 is simply based on a different set of metrics (and has a different meaning to the overall economy than the number you are bringing up).

Top one percent income in 1986: $232,581

Those peaks you see on the chart are stock market bubbles. The top one percent own 50 percent of the stock market and bonds. If you follow the trend line, you see their income reverted to the trend in 2009 when the last bubble burst.

Top one percent income in 2009: $343,927.

Here is an inflation calculator: CPI Inflation Calculator

You will find that $232,581 in 1986 dollars is equal to $455,266.70 in 2009 dollars.

So it is as I said, not even the top one percent have kept up with inflation. They are more than $100,000 away from where they should be just to keep up with inflation. Put another way, they are 25 percent poorer than they were 30 years ago.

Sounds like special pleading, to me.

Special pleading?

Those are the facts he presented.

I think Bernie needs to explain his math on this one since based on the OP:

He claims : roughly 94 million out of work (I'm assuming he's claiming these as "unemployed" for the purposes of an unemployment rate, otherwise why even mention it in relation to the unemployment rate?)
In a country with a population of roughly 325 million
with a labor force of roughly 156 million

Which by his calculus yields a 10% unemployment rate.......

There are different rates for different things. The unemployment rate is generally those able to claim benefits. We all know this, and it's important. However there's the rate of people out of work who should be working, ie, not rich retired people etc.

Uh-huh... and please ask Bernie where the 94 million "out of work" number comes into play?

Anyone that tells the truth has credibility. While he is correct about those percentages, how he wants to go about fixing it is where he loses support of those on the right. Same thing with Obama. The difference is he lies about the numbers.
