As long as some keep brushing off our growing wealth disparities, this stuff won't be going away.
Being intellectually stuck in the every-man-for-himself Old West ain't a good idea.
My fearless & brilliant prediction: We'll just keep ignoring what's coming because no answers are easy and/or politically expedient. Then one day we'll find ourselves in abject crisis mode, lose our shit and make some stupid, shallow, knee-jerk decisions based on absolute panic & ignorance.I have yet to hear another solution to the coming jobs crisis. AI and robots are going to make human labor obsolete. At that point society will collapse if the government isn't providing for people. As long as some keep brushing off our growing wealth disparities, this stuff won't be going away. That depends on where the handout is enacted into law. One thing is for sure, the poor can't/won't pay for it. The rich will pay BIG TIME, in higher taxes As with a lot of these liberal-loon ideas, they start out in cities, and eventually California signs on statewide.Yang is campaigning on a series of radical proposals, including offering every person a $12,000 universal basic income (UBI) in the form of a $1,000 monthly cash payment, which Yang calls a “freedom dividend.”
Awesome!
Who is going to pony up the $4 trillion needed for this handout?
