US carbon pollution up two percent in 2013

A new government report says energy-related carbon dioxide pollution increased slightly last year after declining for several years in a row. The 2 percent increase was largely due to a small increase in coal consumption in the electric power sector.

Coal, long the dominant source for U.S. electricity, has regained some market share in recent months as natural gas prices have increased following historic lows in 2012.

A report by the Energy Information Administration says American cars and factories spewed 5.38 billion tons of carbon dioxide in 2013, up from 5.27 billion in 2012. Carbon dioxide is the chief man-made global warming gas.

Even with the uptick, the EIA says overall U.S. carbon emissions remained 10 percent below 2005 levels.

Oh my god even with hundreds of billions of dollars in investment in renewables this still happens.

U.S. carbon dioxide emissions related to energy increased in 2013 for the first time in three years, possibly the first sign that a trend in declining emissions from energy consumption has ended for now.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration released a report on Monday showing that 2013 energy-related CO2 emissions in the U.S. are expected to have increased 2 percent over 2012 emissions once all the data for the year are tallied. Total CO2 emissions from fossil fuels totaled 5.26 billion metric tons in 2012, increasing to 5.37 billion in 2013, EIA data show.

The report also projects that emissions will increase slightly — 0.7 percent — in 2014, followed by no change in emissions in 2015.

Barack Obama needs to declare coal illegal! Order the shutting down of all the plants from sea to shining sea!

... won't be no oxygen left.

Is the end times...

... like it says inna Bible...

... get used to it."

CO2 does not drive climate.

Anyone that claim to believe is science like you and pushes a religion that hates real science is definitely someone that is not connected to reality.

And once again fro the AGW cult who will ignore this due to their cult programming.

CO2 does not drive climate....

Child, prove most of the climate community wrong or fuck off.

You haven't proven it is correct! So do us all a favor and admit you are an AGW hack and you don't care about science.

Post one link to datasets with source code that proves with scientific validity that CO2 drives climate.

You people aren't going to be happy until they tax us to death over pollution

most of it comes from California, New York and other big cities PACKED with people and cars

have you driven in rush hour in California?

How about just killing off a couple Billion people then you might reach that goal you all have in mind, whatever the hell it is...
