US spent $5.6 trillion on wars since 9/11

Washington has expended a whopping $5.6 trillion on wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Pakistan since 2001, according to a new study. That figure is more than three times what the Pentagon has claimed in official estimates.

Research from the Watson Institute of International and Public Affairs at Brown University found that as of late September, the US wars combined with "additional spending on Homeland Security and the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs" had totaled more than $4.3 trillion since the 9/11 attacks in 2001. That number surged to $5.6 trillion once likely costs were added for fiscal year 2018, along with estimated future spending on veterans.
emphasis added

The total population of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Jordan, and Palestine is about 100,000,000.

Dividing 5.6 trillion by 100 million would give $56,000 for every man, woman, and child in the Middle East --- more than enough to turn them and their countries into rich, developed nations and enthusiastic supporters of the USA.

But, of course, that would not have given obscene profits to the Satanic American War Machine!

I wonder how much we've been spending on illegals.

$116 billion/yr. $2 Trillion since 911.
The wars you claim we started has added to this. They were caused by the Clintons, Bushs, and Obamas.
So these assholes cost us roughly $8 Trillion.

And nothing to show for it. War is the ultimate wealth destroyer. Well, except for the contractors that push for more of it.

The spending on additional security was not optional after 9-11.

Including those numbers to pump up your argument,

ironically undercuts your argument, by mixing in spending that was not debatable.

oh, and giving them money would not make them like US. If that was true, Saudi Arabia and China would both love us like crazy.

Every military adventure in the bloody 20th century happened during a democrat administration. Americans spent twice the modern equiv of 5T in the mess we lovingly call WW1 that Woodie Wilson promised he would never send Americans to fight. Hitler came into political prominence about the same time as FDR was elected for his first (of four) terms. The Great Depression happened and Hitler became more powerful while FDR seemed clueless. Truman sent Americans to Korea on an executive order and bungled the mission so badly that we lost about 55,000 Americans in three years. Bill Clinton gave NK nuclear capability and later bombed a defenseless country when he was literally caught with his pants down. Maybe Brits have short memories or maybe they should stick to the mess the country formerly known as England is in today rather than point fingers at the Colonies.
