USMB: Which politcal party do you vote for?

What politcal party do you normally vote for?

  • Total voters
    58
  • Poll closed .
Hi folks. I just wanted to post an unofficial poll into the voting habits of our fair political message board. This is totally unscientific poll, so please, don't be shy! No judging allowed, please.

Vote Republican for the most part. Have favored Dems on occasion in local races, GOP nationally because there is no alternative other than libertarian once in a blue moon.

The thread poll at present:

  1. Republican
    15 vote(s)
    48.4%

  2. Democratic
    8 vote(s)
    25.8%

  3. Third Party
    1 vote(s)
    3.2%
  4. *
    Independent
    7 vote(s)
    22.6%
Can't help noticing that the herd mentality is firmly in the "Republican" corner. And what it tells us about this board is that, if it were a survey of the general population, it would read thus:

  • No Party
    15 vote(s)
    48.4%

  • Democratic
    8 vote(s)
    25.8%
  • Republican
  • 7 vote(s)
    22.6%
  • Third Party
    1 vote(s)
    3.2%
  • --- that's what the electorate actually looks like So thanks to the OP for a demonstration of what USMB is.

You can't poll on here. To many foreign trolls.

As the OP said it would be unscientific, but it does give us a glimpse of who's on this site.

The top group I posted was the actual poll results from this thread. The bottom group is how the general public electorate actually plays out. The numbers didn't even have to be changed, just the assignments. So what I illustrated here was the difference between "USMB" --- and "Reality".

I vote for Democrats, the only party pro American Workers.
Wanting to usher in millions and millions of immigrants to compete for working class jobs helps Amrican workers how?
It doesn't, because the business class is just wanting servants for whom don't utilize the American system like American's do, so they don't have to offer up as much in order to produce products for a world market.

This idea that was developed during the 80's and 90's in which led us to go full global to the detriment of our nation and to our citizens is traitorous. The excuses are just that "EXCUSES" that are being made constantly to justify it all. No one is stupid, and we all have eyes to see the damage being done to our citizens and to our country.

I don't vote for party. I vote for the candidate. In 2008 and 2012 , I voted for the Constitution party and Libertarian party because I DESPISED both Obama and McCain and Romney. In 2016 I voted for Trump and in 2020 I won't vote for anyone for president because they ALL suck.

When you consider it's despicable and sordid history, the fact that the Democratic party still exists in the 21st century is a huge embarrassment to the USA. The Democrats fought for slavery and against women's rights.

The Democrats also instituted racist anti-miscegenation and Jim Crow laws which were emulated by the Nazis and served as legal precedent for the Nuremburg laws which were used to justify the holocaust. If it wasn't for the US Democratic party, the holocaust likely would have never happened.

The Democratic party is just plain evil.

yawn

boring

Yes history is "boring" to some people. Especially Democrats.

Try reading your own previous post.

I used to be a Democrat. Now I am an independent, but I will be voting for Trump.

Who votes for a 'party'?

I vote for people, not parties. I don't even want to know what their parties are, if they have one.
I dunno, voting on the basis of "party" just seems like a herd mentality.

Fun fact: More of us are "no party" than are either Democrats or Republicans. Way more.

Voting on the basis of party instead of person only makes sense to people who have core values and also understand how our political system works. Tell me the issues most important to you, and I will tell you the party you should be voting for.

So I first wanted to thank all those who participated in my rather unscientific poll. I've also appreciated all the colorful dialogue that came along with it. Many took the time to explain their political choice and the history behind how/why they landed at their choice of supporting/boycotting a political party. Some took it as a soapbox to lob bombs on the political party they don't support. Again, even though none of this was a requirement in participation, I wholeheartedly thank you all for taking the time to contribute your opinions collectively.

The results have come together pretty much how I figured they would. There is definitely a strong majority of folks participating here on USMB who lean right. We have a strong 50% of you voting Republican and around 25% of you falling into the Independent camp.

For the sake of fairness, I halved the Independents between the right and left political party favorability, leaving 12.5% in support of both parties. This can't be completely accurate. There will be outliers. Give me some slack.

Just based upon juggling the math on this purely unscientific thread of USMB participants, we are seeing at a divide of 62.5% Republican, 35.5% Democratic and 2% Third Party.

Is this an interesting, or boring conclusion to you all? Do you feel empowered or outraged at the result?

Once again, if you feel the need to keep going with the political banter, I wholeheartedly thank you for your participation in this nonsense, nonetheless.

bigcorp, who traditionally are with (R)s - are the ones that hire them & the 'e verify' system is only voluntary. i wonder if the chicken processing plant where ICE nabbed some 600 illegals was ever fined & their owner put in jail.

what are the odds of that happening?

That absolutely does not work. Political parties don't have "positions".

Oh they'll CLAIM TO, all day and into the night, but as soon as that position proves unprofitable for the Prime Directive, it becomes an Unposition that never happened and if it did, so what that was yesterday, I need votes TODAY.

The ONLY position a political party takes and holds onto is Self-Perpetuation. Any history of any period tells you that.

We have retards oozing around this site who will swear that the word "Republican" or "Democrat" or "Socialist" (etc etc etc) are some kind of fixed rocks that never move with the times. They are morons who've never cracked a history book.

So Google and Apple support Republicans? That's news to me.

I’m open to different opinions and platforms but overall I tend to vote Democratic. I will say though that as someone who is pro-life I don’t like the direction the party is trending towards by making it almost disqualifying if a candidate is pro life and democratic.
