Va senate passes bill that lets parents keep perverted sexual material OUT of schools

Odd how the left seems OK with books on sexual perversion to be allowed in schools.
Do tell?

"And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father." – Bible : Genesis (19) : 33 – 36.

Run along thread flamer, I don't know of anyone that takes your nonsense seriously

Well, VA parents and schools will have to: 29 Sexually Explicit, Profane and Dirty Stories and Verses in the Bible

We'll get to the violence parts latter...

Before the Leftists on the Warren Court expanded the First Amendment beyond all rational bounds, it was understood to mean, basically, that CONGRESS couldn't pass a law that criminalized criticizing the government or any government official. Thus, prior to 1960, censorship was prevalent all over the United States and was accepted as reasonable and certainly Constitutional. Schools and parents took care to screen the materials presented to school children to ensure that they were APPROPRIATE for school children, did not promote immoral or perverse sexual behavior, or expose children to materials that would be more suitable to adults.

It was recognized and accepted that different communities had different standards for what was "obscene" or objectionable, and that was perfectly OK. What was fine in San Francisco might not be fine in Little Rock, Arkansas.

There is nothing wrong with censorship of materials being taught in school, and nothing wrong with the state or the local school board deciding what is offensive and what is appropriate.

What is perverse is distorting the United States Constitution and bending the minds of the American Public to believe that it is somehow "wrong" to take our pedagogical obligations to our children seriously.

When my son was ten years old and a fifth grader in a suburban Allegheny County (PA) public school - at a time when there had never been a SINGLE REPORTED CASE of heterosexual transmission of AIDS in the County - he was given a video presentation on how to prevent the spread of HIV during anal "sex."

Does that make you the least bit uncomfortable?

It should.
if the community has an issue with the curriculum they can address it through the school board.

but allowing every parent to opt their child out of whatever 'objectionable' material they want and requiring the instructors to give their child something they deem acceptable is ridiculous

School is often the only chance of abused kids hearing a message that is not based on hate. Some parents are so toxic that they should not be allowed to bring up kids. Society has to pay in the end.

Parents need to get involved with their kids lives, whether they are for or against this bill, they need the discuss it with their kids, and the school board. Failing the kid is the stupidest answer I've heard.
if the kid doesn't do the work...

The teacher and the school district work for the parents to provide an education, they should all work together to provide the proper curriculum, forcing people to abandon their morals is not teaching anything. That is the school failing the student.

hooray ignorance
YES because giving parents an option to keep sexual discussions away from their children is ignorant. lol
God forbid choice. Right lefty? Conformity all the wayyyyyy!
if they have an issue they can voice that with their local school board.

there is no reason for teachers to prepare two lessons because someone feels their delicate little flower can't handle reading
They don't have to go to the school board, thank goodness.
Its not about reading. Its about indoctrination and choice.
Funny how you lefties only like choice when it is about killing life.

It's not left wingers who vote for censorship. That would be conservatives. Hopefully the governor will veto this piece of crap

It's not censorship, it is a school, not a public library. Should we allow all porn magazines and KKK material into the public school library's? Not sure if that is a good idea either.

I watch what my kids read I buy them books etc. Try to keep the race mixing and pro homosexual shit away from them.

God forbid that they learn tolerance or respect for others.
Just WHERE is race mixing and pro homosexual filth respect or tolerance? They have to "tolerate" the degenerate scum since we can't just shoot them and get rid of them. Doesn't mean they will have their heads filled with libtard bullshit.

Or you could just join the 21st century ?

I wish obuthole and you libtards would have used that logic before shoving the failed obamacare down our throats.

After passionate debate, Va. Senate passes bill that lets parents object to books

Good good. Of course the degenerate leftards are whining about censorship blah blah blah...I am glad this passed and hopefully its signed or over ridden when the democrap governor vetoes it. We are moving to Va in 3 months and this is great news.
They whined about censorship on this case too involving the 1st Amendment but that didn't impress the US Supreme Court. They Found to limit the 1st Amendment when harm to children was involved: Is Gay Marriage Void? New York v Ferber (1982) Etc. Not sure if the ACLU represented Ferber, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they did...

States that don't have comprehensive sexual education classes in schools have higher unintended pregnancies, as well as higher sexually transmitted disease rates. Too many parents are reluctant to even discuss sex with their children, as they consider the topic taboo. My parents were that way. That topic never came up and I learned from other kids. That's not the way to do it.

Do we have a list of books that precipitated this bill? I'd like to see what the impetus behind this is.

Agreed. I'll bet the same parents objecting to the Trojan horse (introducing sexualizing to kids at earlier and earlier ages by the LGBT cult) would be in favor of teaching kids about anal sex in this context: "If you engage in anal sex, you can pretty much resign yourself to getting HIV and dying of AIDS because even the drugs we have (that are phenomenally expensive) to prolong your life are starting to fail as the HIV virus mutates and they are no longer effective".

That and nothing else about anal sex. About regular sex, normal sex, a real vagina boys use (instead of an artificial one (the anus) to keep their girlfriend from getting pregnant or to try out sex with another boy as a girl-substitute cuz you know it's all the rage!), let them spend a day tending infants' diaper changes and colicky babies, maybe a week of that and then tell them "use these condoms every time or this is what you're going to be doing every single day without end for over two years".

Toni Morrison's Pulizter Prize winning novel Beloved is what touched off this controversy.
