The Logan Act, however, was never intended to apply to incoming officials in the transition period - and in the past 218 years, has resulted in no successful prosecution.

Furthermore, Sara Carter reports that Flynn was tricked into a formal investigation after FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe told the retired three-star general "some agents were heading over (to the White House)," which Flynn thought was related to routine work the FBI had been doing - only to realize they were sent there for him.

Why isn't McCabe in Jail?

About the only straight answer the House Committee got out of the FBI Director yesterday was his agreement that it was clearly wrong for a member of the FBI to leak work product to a newspaper...which is exactly what the Crook James Comey admitted to doing.

Listening to the hearing, I believe we will. He also agreed, by his own definition of gross negligence, vs extreme carelessness is pretty much one in the same.
I am hoping the IG report is going to give us a lot we don’t know. That is where some of this that has been exposed has come from. Yeah, will it take too long? Past today is too long for me.
Wray I have more confidence in than Comey or Mueller. His innuendo, without crossing that ethical line yesterday gave me some hope and also mentioned the fact Strzok is a career civil servant and implied how certain procedures must be followed.

I was willing to let Hillary Clinton skate for the E-Mail Lies and Negligence and Fraud---because she paid a high price in losing the election, and because it is unseemly to prosecute the losing candidate in a Presidential Election. Smells of of Banana Republic.

But, the Uranium One Scam is too much--to the extent we can call Russia an enemy--its Treason---for it the guilty, no matter who, must be brought to justice.

And her part, and Obama's Toadies' part, in purchasing a bunch of lies from the Russians; then using those lies to obtain FISA Warrants to spy on the opposition during a Presidential Election---that Reeks of Banana Republic and it is the very thing the Liberals were so concerned about when this FISA Court was established.

It cannot be allowed to stand....and thus become a precedent for further abuse---it will undermine the Republic.

In response to your question, it certainly appears that Flynn is taking responsibility...very possibly not because he lied, but to stop the financial bankruptcy that the whole weight of a Special Prosecutor without a budget can lay on him. But, he pled Guilty--that's taking responsibility, Numb-Skull.

NOW, it is time to look into the POLITICAL MOTIVES, possibly illegal, by which this whole Witch Hunt came about.

Obama/Clinton Operatives McCabe (FBI) and Yates (DOJ) had a transcript of all of Flynn's conversations with the Russian Ambassador--and there was nothing wrong in them, so they surreptitiously set a trap....and interviewed him about them anyway. He didn't bother with a lawyer because they led him to believe it was about business related to his job. Perhaps he was a Dumb-Ass, like you, but as I said, he is paying the price.

But, McCabe and Yates malevolently and maliciously justified their behavior by claiming Flynn was in violation of an 1799 law which has never been enforced...and which everyone who is not a Dumb-Ass agrees DOES NOT apply to the team serving the newly elected President.

Maybe a silly question, but was Flynn Mirandized before the interview? Did they remind him that HE HAD A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO HAVE HIS ATTORNEY PRESENT? Clearly, they did not. Had his attorney been present, the attorney would have reminded and clarified for him that his comms with The Russians were entirely legal and appropriate. This was obviously a trap, intended to embarrass and trick a key member of the new Administration.
