I don't celebrate when people get fired, but I'm not sure what large institutions are supposed to do about an employee like Sonmez. She repeatedly issued harsh, widely seen public criticisms of her employer (not to mention sued it) in ways that seemed to materially damage its brand. It kind of makes sense that they wouldn't want to keep paying her for that.
