While Egyptian civilians, soldiers, and citizens clash and fight and riot in Tahrir square, yesterday, Israeli civilians had a different kind of war.

Water festival.

In Tel Aviv, it's a tradition that in the beginning of July Israelis go and participate in "war fights" to cool themselves from the heatwave.

Just few hours (and light years) from Tahrir.

Looks like fun for the Israeli's but at least the Egyptian & Syrian terrorists are massacring each other in their own countries. What greater contibution to peace, mankind & civilization than that?

I have never been in one of those festivals.

But He, now they give us new swimming pools and new "sea" in Be'er Sheva.

The Negev will soon become the new big thing in Israel:D!

Sorry, that babe isn't available for you. Will this one be okay? If so be careful. She like diamond rings.

Those images of Rabin Square in Tel Aviv are horrific! Just look at all those suffering women. The UN War Crimes Commission is in session now, deciding what to do about this tragic situation.

lmao!

We certainly could copy that tradition in 'Boswash' (the East Coast megalopolis from Boston MA to DC) for the Fourth .... it was well over 90 degrees (33 C) on the Esplanade Thursday before the sun finally set! Down in Philly, it's traditionally about 100 degrees the first week in July. But that is NOT the dry heat of the Negev: it's very humid and so it's hard to do much of anything.

I liked the shot of the water park with the kidlet : )) We have some of them here: they 're usually paired with amusement parks that have some wild rides..... These days we mostly like the 'lazy river' part floating with the huge innertubes colored like Life Savers : )) But the 'wave box' is fun, too

I'm sure the fellows reading have been enjoying the pictures - but I doubt the pics helped them cool down, lol!

I hear ya, girl

I am personally used to the heat, being a Negev resident my entire life. Hearing about all the heat damages in America seriously saddened me, because such extreme heat is not something which many experience every day. And humidity I hate. I cannot stand it.

Give me 50 degrees but spare me the humidity.

How is the weather in there now? I remember hearing about all the casualties there and it brought fresh memories of the Carmel disaster.

Mount Carmel forest fire (2010) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Americans were lifesavers during that time for us and I wished there was something we could have done to help you in return!

As for the water festivals, that sounds pretty awesome! Tel Aviv is very humid, and the guys do everything they can to cool down.

Here it is hot most of the times, and we're used to it, there is no such drastic weather changes in the Negev. Here its "Very hot" or "somewhat hot" or "not that hot" or just "hot".

LMAO.

But they seem to enjoy themselves, so why not:D
