Way to go, Eric Cantor

Cantor is a clown who actually supports amnesty. He's just playing his part at acting in this contrived Beltway Drama.

Both parties' entrenched pigs want amnesty. Don't fall for this shell game.

Yanno..................I'd believe the GOP when they say that Obama doesn't want to work with them....

Only one problem...........................

Most of what Obama has proposed has been something that the GOP has said would be a good idea a few years back.

If Obama supports it, the GOP is against it, even if they proposed the very same thing a year or so back.

Wanna talk about how RomneyCare worked in MA?

Sorry, but the only thing the GOP is interested in right now is blocking anything that the black man in the White House proposes, even if it's their own ideas.

Yanno.................if someone is willing to do the work that it requires to get a full degree from an accredited college, cool............let them stay, and hopefully they can help to advance this country.

If someone is willing to sacrifice 4 or more years to the defense of this country by enlisting in the U.S. Military, they should also be allowed to stay.

If you're willing to spend 4 or more years getting a degree to help this country out, or are willing to spend 4 years (the amount of time required by a standard military contract) or more defending this country, you should also be allowed to stay.

Both should be given citizenship under the DREAM Act.

How many years did the Koch brothers serve? How much have they done to better this country?

For that matter.................how many politicians currently serving in the House or the Senate have ever served?

If you're willing to serve this country, even if it means giving up your life for it, you should be given citizenship.

I've spent 20 years defending this country, and I know what it means to me. If you're willing to put your ass on the line (I've served in 4 war zones), you should be given all the rights that a person who was born in (but never served) has.

repubs have and continue to make disparaging remarks about the president, that's nothing new...

Were you conscious when President George W Bush was POTUS?

I know of a couple of instances where elected Democratic officials made uncalled for remarks about Bush.

A couple..probably less than 3 or four.

And none of them rose to the level of what Stockman and the rest of the Republican Radicals have done and said.

And the opposite was true of Bush. He didn't spend all that much time making overtures to the other end of the aisle. He was really a "my way or highway" type of guy.

There are people here who believe that the GOP members of Congress have been civil to and eager to work with this president?

Amazing.

Anybody I vote for Congress had better not be civil to this president.

And THAT'S the rodeo folks.

:D

Funny that you mention rodeos... you guys thought a rodeo clown wearing an Obama mask was racist. Not to mention the death threats he got afterwards. Talk about civil.

Seriously, what goes through Obama's mind when he trashes the people he needs to work with -- and especially when he tells lies about them to trash them? If we use Obama's own logic, it would be reasonable to conclude that Obama wants to maintain legislative impasses so he can use lack of progress as an issue as he continues his nonstop campaigning across the country.

Eric Cantor rejects latest Obama immigration outreach - Washington Times

President Obama tried to kick-start the immigration debate Wednesday with a call to a top House Republican, but his target, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, rejected the overture, saying it was made just hours after the president took a partisan shot on the very same issue — underscoring why Mr. Obama is getting little accomplished in Washington.

Wednesday marked one year since a bipartisan group of senators introduced a massive immigration reform bill, igniting a debate that led to a 68-32 vote for approval in June largely along party lines. Mr. Obama and congressional Democrats used the anniversary to plead with House lawmakers to pick up the issue, either by passing the Senate bill or writing their own version.

When the president called Mr. Cantor, the Virginia Republican raised objections to a statement earlier in the day in which Mr. Obama accused Republicans of extremism and trying to punish blameless illegal immigrants.

“After five years, President Obama still has not learned how to effectively work with Congress to get things done. You do not attack the very people you hope to engage in a serious dialogue,” Mr. Cantor said in a statement recounting the conversation.

So Cantor is holding up immigration reform because his feelings were hurt?

Well no..that's basically a cop out.

President Obama has bent over backwards for these guys.

He's held dinners for them that they don't show up too.
He's held lunches for them that they don't show up too.
He's invited members out for golf and they refuse (Boehner, I think, was the exception).
He's actually attended GOP meetings and was subject to attack.
Wilson called him a liar on the floor.
McConnell issued a mission statement that the number one agenda for Republicans to make him a one term President.
West has called him a Marxist.
Bachmann wished for his death.
Stockman invited Nugent (Who called for Obama's death) to the SOTU.
Lamborn called him a "tar baby".
Issa called him the "most corrupt President in history".
Sessions said he couldn't stand to look at him.
Cruz constantly calls ObamaCare a failure.
Farenhold has called for impeachment over the birther issue.

And Cantor, who happily blamed the Sequestor and the Government Shutdown on Obama can't seem to get it together because he feels insulted.

:eusa_hand:

So much bunk, so little time.

Lamborn called him a "tar baby".

B.s. Didn't happen.

McConnell issued a mission statement that the number one agenda for Republicans to make him a one term President.

Mission statement? *sigh* Any time someone circulates this bull without the accurate context, they lose any high moral ground from which to criticize those who take Pelosi's "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it" comment out of context.

Bachmann wished for his death.

Are you referring to a certain jocular scriptural reference which gotcha-players then claimed could not be separated in intent from the follow-up verse which people didn't even know about?

And Cantor, who happily blamed the Sequestor and the Government Shutdown on Obama

Did he? Well again, good for him. After how Mr. "No Compromise, Full Speed Ahead with the Boondoggle" talked about Republicans in that context, GOOD. FOR. HIM.

.

As opposed to the Dems who worked hard for Bush's second term, right? Newsflash: every party out of the White House works hard to make the president a one termer.

And Mitch McConnell made his statement in the clear and distinct context of what the GOP would need to do in order to have a chance to stop the ACA. McConnell said that winning the senate would not be enough. Even if the GOP took the Senate in 2010 we wouldn't be have been able to reverse the fruit of Democrats' lies and trickery until 2012. Obama would have vetoed the attempt. The only way to get around Obama's veto would be to not have Obama there.

Uh, huh. Yeah, that's what happens
Mr. Obama accused Republicans of extremism and trying to punish blameless illegal immigrants.

Nice excuse for the Repubs - If he's not nice to us, we won't do our jobs. We're screwing over the country because Obama doesn't kiss our collective fat ass.

Sheesh.

Yeah, that's what I said. Not.

Republicans are doing their job. Obama is not doing his -- unless his job is to inflame already tense situations.

Tense situation? The Senate passed a bill to the House a year ago. Of course the Republican controlled House was to busy intensely trying to repeal Obamacare and the EPA to have time to bring such trivial bills as immigration reform to the Floor. Any suggestion otherwise and Rep. Cantor will sure set them straight. :doubt:
