Nothing is stopping them.
They're like the kids that say they want cake for dinner EVERY NIGHT, but when the stars align and they get their way, they realize cake for dinner every night was a silly request. By day 3, just sort of poke it with their forks.

Now that they're in power, and they're expected to actually think of solutions and do things, they realize it isn't as much fun as they thought it would be. Three months in, and they're still just poking legislation with their forks.

Well, the stock answer to why Obama hasn't gotten the economy turned around is that it took Bush eight years to fuck it up... so it will take a while.

So, it took Obama 6+ years to create this mess, so it will take more than three months to fix it.
