In fact, If you’re hoping to find a weight scale anytime soon in the Carleton University Gym in Canada, I wouldn’t hold my breath. That’s because weight scales have pretty much been banned from the gym after students deemed it to be “Triggering”. Now instead a sign has been put up in place of the scale, explaining that the decision to remove it is “in keeping with current fitness and social trends.” According to the report, The school’s manager of health and wellness programs, Bruce Marshall, told the school newspaper that focusing only on weight had a negative impact when it came to fitness and athletics.

As a general principle, the elevation of "not knowing" over "knowing" seems rather perverse for an institution of learning. The comparison with mirrors is particularly apt.

FAT is not generally an inherited trait. It results from over-consumption of "food." If one chooses not to be ashamed of being fat, that's fine, but it doesn't change the fact that fat is unattractive as well as being an indicator of a shortage of self-control.

So really, why remove an instrument whereby those who wish to know and monitor their weight cannot do so because its presence makes a few others uncomfortable? This is truly fucked up.

When an addict is in recovery you remove triggers ... once you are an addict your subconscious brain changes for the rest of your life..you keep the conscious part of the brain on recovery..but if you bring in a trigger relapse possibilities are very high..

Which is the reason why recovering addicts stay away from bars/ people drinking for an alcoholic, gambling, sex , over eating ..shopping

Why would you put pies , drugs or alcohol, credit cards, or a porn movie in front of the addicts trying to recover for doing those things.. They are triggers for relapse.
