Weight scale banned from campus gym students call it triggering

Again, for all the people bitching about this, do you realize that it happened in Canada, and not the USA?

What's next? Lawsuits against the weight scale manufacturers for mental cruelty?

We've allowed the snowflakes to complain at the slightest discomfort, and now the absurd is real.

I'd ask how much worse it can get, but I'm afraid to find out. This story would not have been possible just a few years ago.

I've an upcoming physical.

I'll take this up with my Dr.

When she asks me to step on the scale I'll suggest that I'm being triggered and would respectfully request she refrain from interfering with my safe space.

Since I'm not overweight she will look at me in disbelief.

And probably suggest I see a shrink.

She hasn't asked me about my firearms since I told her that I have an arsenal in the basement.

Holy crap, suggesting a shrink could be a trigger, too.

Fuck it, cancel.

I'll go a step further and inform her that my wife will be triggered due to her concern with me being naked in the company of another woman.

After 20 years my Dr. pretty much has me figured out. Since I have no serious concerns I can humor my way through the visits.

These days weight is an obsession ...I would rather have the scale removed than seeing a young person die from starving herself, or throwing up everything she eats which causes organ failure..to go down in record that she lost a few pounds

Okay, that's just about as retarded as it gets. What's next? Removing the scale from the Doctor's office?

A scale has to be at a doctor's office because that is where the final word should be. How important is it that they be in a school gym in the grand scheme?

a scale doesn't make you not eat
a scale doesn't make you eat

and anorexia is more tied to perceived body image not because there is a scale in the gym

When an addict is in recovery you remove triggers ... once you are an addict your subconscious brain changes for the rest of your life..you keep the conscious part of the brain on recovery..but if you bring in a trigger relapse possibilities are very high..

Which is the reason why recovering addicts stay away from bars/ people drinking for an alcoholic, gambling, sex , over eating ..shopping

Why would you put pies , drugs or alcohol, credit cards, or a porn movie in front of the addicts trying to recover for doing those things.. They are triggers for relapse.

So we have to restructure society because somebody can't control their eating habits? People can't wear perfume because one person claims an allergy. With all the control freaks out here, it will never end.

Again..................for all you people freaking out over this article, it did NOT happen here in America, but rather it happened in Canada, which is a hell of a lot more politically correct than America is.

And yeah, I think it's stupid, because for sports like wrestling and boxing, you have different weight classes, usually each class is separated by 7 pounds, so yeah, a scale would be required for the athletic teams.

And, speaking as someone who was a PRT Coordinator for my commands for the last 8 years of my Naval service, if a person has a weight problem, a scale is a very useful tool. If they are "triggered" by the sight of a scale because of eating disorders, then not only do they need to use the scale, but they need a shrink as well.
